Chapter One Over a year had passed since Nathan first kissed Haley. It would be a lie to say it was all peaches and cream from there. They had survived Dan and Deb's nasty divorce, Lucas' hatred of Nathan, Haley's parent's, Nathan's friends, and Nathan's ruined basketball career. Yet they had survived. And more often then not they were happy.
Nathan had to stop playing basketball for two months when he broke his wrist. After he got the all clear to play again he decided he was happier without basketball in his life. Dan lost the custody battle so there was no one to pressure his decisions. The only down fall was he had to rely on his brain to get him anywhere in life. Haley was more then willing to help him with that.
Nathan has just taken his math final when he wen to meet Haley in the tutoring lab. She was helping Tim study for an English final. After Nathan's grades skyrocketed everyone wanted help with their schoolwork from Haley. Nathan just watched as they continued to go over the chapter.
"Haley James the tutoring genius at work again. Now her challenge can she help Tim pass the class? It seems like a tough one." Nathan said pretending to be a sports announcer.
"Ha ha, very funny man." Tim gave Nathan a quick pat on the shoulder.
"Hey baby I'll see you tonight. I intend to collect a reward." Nathan said as he waved an A+ test in front of her face.
Haley jumped up and gave him a kiss. "I am so proud of you. But I can't meet you tonight. I am tutoring until six o'clock. Then I have to close the diner. After that I have to study for my History final. Maybe tomorrow night?" Haley was extremely busy this time of year.
I am sorry but I just can't accept that. I will find a way. I want my reward tonight." Nathan declared as he pecked her on the cheek and ran out of the tutoring lab.
"I might be able to pass English if I got the kinds of rewards Nathan gets" Tim said sarcastically.
Haley smacked him upside the head. "List seven parts of speech and you might get a doggy biscuit." Haley laughed.
