Taking place after the covenant ceremony, Raven and Alexander share a passionate day in a coffin 6 feet underground within Dullsville Cemetery. By consumating their bond for eternity they've set off an ancient alert to the Vampire Counsel. It is only a matter of time before The Counsel make their move.
Accused of treason, anarchy, and putting the Vampire Race at high risk to exposure, Alexander must acknowledge his summoning and stand trial. Pushing away his immortal bride is his only chance of getting through his trials alive so taht he may return to her. Else, allowing Raven to enter this part of his world with her history of wrecklessness and affinity to dangerous adventures will get them killed... Or worse.
Alexander goes through many trials to prove his innocence and loyalty to not only The Counsel, but to The King as well. Facing werewolves, witches, vampire hunters, royal families, and scorned maidens, Alexander must overcome them all at the cost of tainting his soul. Can he returned to his beloved Raven with her safety garunteed in time to apologize for his wrongs and make up the lost time? Or will the Counsel get to her first?
