Diver Drabbles: The Festival
AUTHOR's NOTE
Hey Everyone! So at long last my two week long hiatus had come to an end and now we can finally get back to writing. I've had this drabble on my computer for a while and I finally cleaned up for posting here. I hope you find it to your Diver-shipping satisfaction!
Timeline: Directly after "the Wedding of River Song" for the Doctor, meanwhile River has been in Stormcage for three months

The Doctor and River Song walked the streets of the marketplace hand-in-hand. As part of their honeymoon, the Doctor was taking River to all of his favourite places beginning with the 22,000th Festival of the Moons on the planet Lionel.
"Did you know, River?" the Doctor said in between bites of Lionese pastry. "That the Festival of Moons isn't to celebrate the moon necessarily, but rather to celebrate that this is these three days out of a six year cycle that all eighteen of the Lionese moons go into 'new moon' phase and there is absolutely no moonlight. They're celebrating that the moon cannot see them! Remarkable really..."
"Yes it's amazing, my love," River smiled swinging their intertwined hands between them.
"You see," he continued. "The moons each represent one of their gods or goddesses- Judo, Hyacinth, Zendela, Abel, Doon, Tino and the like- and this is the time when the Lionese can carry out the things thought unseemly by the gods."
"In other words it's a time when they engage in many rituals of a particularly sexual nature," River added in a conspiratorial whisper in his ear.
River pulled away from her new husband a mischievous smirk gracing her features as the Doctor looked at her, blushing furiously, "Well remind me that we must participate in some of the local- rituals."
"That I will."
