It was a cold night, and Alita was out wandering the streets. All of a sudden a Ninja dropped down and ambushed her. She stood no chance against the unexpected attack, and soon the Ninja had her on the ground with his foot on her chest. He was about to claim his kill, when a blade was pressed through the ninjas chest. All of a sudden, the Ninja was pulled away and in his place was a warrior. He had bulging muscles, and he wore a beanie of truth. He had armor with the face of a green ogre on it, and he was wearing sweatpants and vans. He sheathed his sword and smiled, and Alita couldn't help but fall for this man. "Wait!" she called after him. "What is your name?" The hero turned around and said "Liam: Lord of Swamps."
All of a sudden, a plastic shoprite bag blew in front of Alita's eyes, and Liam was gone.
Alita spent the following weeks dreaming about this man at night. One day, she was wandering along the streets, when she heard a sword slice on the rooftops. She took her fighting stance, and soon realized what was going on. Liam was standing on the edge of the rooftop, looking down at her. He jumped down, and came face to face with Alita. "I remember you" he said "from a few weeks ago." Alita felt her heart flutter and her stomach churn. She tried to speak, but her throat felt dry. After an embarrassing 4 seconds, she managed to squeak out "Y-you do?" She couldn't help but blush intensely and look at the floor. "Liam" she said quietly "I am Alita." "Alita, what a nice name." Said Liam "be sure to visit my swamp at the edge of the city." So Alita immediately did so. She saw how nice his swamp was, and soon appeared at his door. Nobody answered. Then, her gaze shifted over to Liam in the fields, harvesting onions. "Liam!" She called out, smiling "Over here!" Liam then turned around and greeted her. "Hello, Alita." all of a sudden Liam froze and drawed out his sword. He muttered something. "What?" Alita questioned "I said, what are you doing... IN ME SWAMP?!" Alita was frozen "Oh... y-you invited me to come h-" But Alita was interrupted as Liam flipped over her. He began running, and she soon realized that he was yelling at a group of vicious robots behind her. He sliced them in one swipe, and then turned back to Alita. "Come with me." Liam said.
Alita and Liam ran through the city for many rainy nights after that. One day, Liam proposed to Alita, and she agreed. They got married, and now live a happy life in Liam's swamp. But Liam has lived the life of a warrior, and one day, died in battle. Alita then terminated the enemy, but was heartbroken at Liam's fall. She kept his sword, and she decided to avenge his legacy, by becoming a famous athlete, and protecting his swamp. She was to fulfil his dream of going to the city in the sky, where maps of the most beautiful swamps were. She would find a swamp and take his sword there. She would visit every so often, but she needed to raise enough money first. For now, she clutched his beanie in her hand, and readied for the game she was about to compete in.
