I shot up and banged my head on something hard. I grabbed my forehead, already feeling a bump form. As my eyes began to focus, I realized I wasn't in my room... I was in a dog crate. I looked for the rest of my flock and found them in crates too. Nudge and Angel were sharing one, while Gazzy, Iggy, and Fang each had their own. I grabbed the bars and shook my crate to wake them up. Fang's eyes lazily brought themselves to a slight opening. Angel was still fast asleep with her little bear, Celeste. Nudge stood up a little and tried stretching, but soon realized there wasn't room and quickly opened her eyes. I saw her eyes widen and she shook Angel awake. I gazed towards Gazzy and saw that he look freaked out and also shaking his bars. Iggy was touching everything, trying to find out where he was, considering he's blind. I looked at Fang again and saw that he was studying everything, probably thinking of an escape route.

His eyes reached mine as he was scanning the room. As he was watching me, I saw a scientist starting to approach his crate. As I was looking at Fang, I hard something like a snake. I whipped around thinking there might have been a snake in my crate, but just emptiness. I looked back and saw that the scientist was closer to him.

"Fang!" I yelled.

The scientist poked a needle through the crate's opening and jabbed Fang right in the arm. He winced then fell to his side on the floor of the crate. The scientist walked towards Gazzy and did the same. I screamed, yelled, kicked, and shook the crate but the scientist kept doing the same thing to my whole flock. As Angel was fighting, the scientist missed her arm and injected the shot on her neck. She too fell silently to the floor. I heard her red heels walking towards me and my anger rose.

She stood there, in front of my crate, watching me silently. Then she bent down and I got to take a good look at her. Her hair was black and tied into a bun. She had full lips; the color of blood. As she began to put her arm towards my crate, she smiled. Her teeth were so straight they probably hurt. All those years of braces really paid off I thought. She must have sensed me staring because she cleaned her teeth with her tongue. At first, her tongue looked normal, but then I caught a good glimpse of it. It didn't look like a human tongue; it looked like a snake's tongue. The end of it cut off into two parts and a second later, it poked out and I heard the snake sound again.

She saw my expression, laughed, and opened my crate. She grabbed my arm and yanked me out. She had the injection in her hand, which was coming toward me. She gently placed the cold needle on my arm, and I struggled to get free. Her grip tightened the more I fought her. In one swift move, I moved my arm over my head and twisted. She cried out in pain and tried to let go but I kept twisting. She dropped the injection and I let her go. She ran away, frightened.

I turned around and started to unlock Fang's crate. He was still passed out, just like the rest of my flock. I was just about to open his crate when I felt someone grab my arm...
