A/N: I've been listening to the Temptations lately. I thought this song would describe Duncan and Courtney. I OWN NOTHING!
Duncan had cheated on Courtney with her friend(ish) Gwen. He didn't even have the guts (or balls) to tell her himself. Tyler (of all people!) had to find out for himself and he even threatened Tyler not to tell Courtney. Duncan pretended to flirt with her just so she could be eliminated from the show. He didn't even try to talk out their problems with Courtney. Nope. He just went ahead and cheated on her. Duncan had messed with her in her most vulnerable state. He had even given her some half-assed apology and of course Courtney didn't believe that shit. And worse of all, this was all on International Television. Yup, he fucked up. Big time. She had every reason to want to leave him and never speak to him again. Who wouldn't?
And worst of all, he had lost out on a really cool girl. He realizes that now. Sure, she was bitchy, bossy, annoying, whiny, greedy, and the list goes on. But she's also fierce, strong, independent, beautiful, no-nonsense, smart, and the list goes on. It's just not the same with Gwen. They agree on almost everything that it's frustrating. There's no teasing, heated make-out sessions, fights, or arguing. It's just the same damn thing. All the time. Gwen was cool, however. But he realized that it would've just been better if they had stayed friends.
He doesn't want to let her go, but he knows that she doesn't want to talk to him. Duncan had tried calling her, but she never returned his calls. Or his texts, for that matter. He doesn't want to completely loose a wonderful girl. And if he has to beg and plead, so be it. Courtney's worth it.
Even two years after TWDT, he still tried to call her and text her. Not that she ever responded.
Duncan hates begging. Especially for girls. Bad boys don't beg for girls. Girls always came crawling to him so he had no reason to beg. Girls were the ones begging for him. Not this time though. Courtney was different. Now he found himself begging for Courtney to come back.
Duncan's don't cry. Ever. You'll never catch Duncan crying. He had too much of an ago and too much pride to cry. But if he has to cry for Courtney not to leave him, then so be it. If it keeps her from hating him, why not?
If he has to sleep on her doorstep just to keep Courtney around, then so be it. This did happen, 2 years after TDWT. He slept by Courtney's door, who had refused to open it for him. It seemed as if Courtney had gotten over him and moved on. But Duncan on the other hand, hadn't. Courtney's friends had laughed when they came to her house the next day. He didn't mind, though. Because he wanted to keep Courtney.
Duncan's really got a love for Courtney and each time he saw her, it grew more and more. Each time she rejected him, the love became even stronger. If he has to beg and plead to her, he doesn't mind, even if he's not proud of it. If it keeps her from walking out on him, then so be it.
A/N: The Temptations rock. I had to remove the lyrics, I was getting some heat.
