Disclaimer: I Don't Own Jekyll Or Hyde, I Just Wish I Did.
A ghost. That's the best he could describe himself as, Edward Hyde was a ghost. The way he silently slipped through the crowd of drunken fools towards the rooms on the dark second floor of the Red Rat. Somehow, no matter what he was doing, his feet eventually took him to this place, the only place where he felt like he belonged in this world, where he felt as though he was equal in sin as anyone else. Usually he found some random girl that he chose to spend the night with but tonight was different, tonight he had his sights set on something. Earlier that evening he had spotted a girl, about 25, speaking to some of the other girls who worked there. He overheard some of their conversation and picked up the girls name,
"Lucy" he thought, "what a plain name" but he shrugged it off and slowly ascended the stairs.
As he reached the door his hand hesitated on the knob, "what? Scared? You? WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU? YOU DON'T GET SCARED!! YOU ARE EDWARD HYDE!"
Shaking his head, dispelling all the negative thoughts, he slowly opened the door. The room was simple, a four post bed, a full length mirror, and a small closet. On the bed, was Lucy, curled up in a ball sleeping. Edward casually walked towards the bed and knelt down, so he was about eye level with Lucy. He traced her cheek with his index finger, then slowly down to her neck and then to her collar bone, he was just about to go lower when Lucy suddenly stirred, sighed, then opened her eyes. Her eyes grew wide and she immediately jumped off the bed and fell down on the floor.
"Well, that was a dramatic greeting" Edward sighed, then grinned manically.
Lucy stood up and slowly sat back down on the bed, never taking her eyes off her strange guest, Edward whistled, "well, this is and awkward moment" he said casually.
"Who are you and what are you doing on my room?" Lucy inquired. Edward just sighed and took a step forward and Lucy shifted a little farther away.
"Oh come now," Edward said in a mock depressed tone, "That's no way to treat your guest" As he took another step forward part of his coat shifted to show the bright gleam of a knife, hidden in his pocket. Lucy grew pale,
"Are you going to kill me?" she asked nervously. Edward just laughed,
"What? With this?" he said, pointing to the knife, "oh no no, no, no, no Lucy, I wouldn't hurt you" "Yet" he added with a dangerous glint in his eyes.
"How do you know my name?" Lucy asked, becoming more and more frightened by the minute. "I have my ways" Edward said quietly. After a very long pause, Edward spoke up,
"I just came here to tell you that you belong to me now." That statement sent Lucy over the edge,
"BELONG TO YOU? I DON'T THINK SO!! I DON'T KNOW WHO YOU ARE, BUT I BELONG TO NO ONE!!" Edward loomed in dangerously close to Lucy's face and whispered,
"Hyde, Edward Hyde, and no matter what you say, no matter what you do, now or ever, you are mine and you always will be." And with that he stood up and strode out of the room. Lucy just curled back up into a ball and fell asleep; hoping that whatever just happened was really just a bad dream, a really bad dream.
