Dexter Note
Authors Note: this fan fiction includes the characters from both Dexter, and death note, this fan fiction is around the time James Doakes was convicted as the Bay Harbor Butcher and was found dead. And at the same time during the time shortly after the death of L, and the short period before Near came along. Also, this story
written in a format where each chapter is told through a different point of view. (Shifting view points between Dexter Morgan, and Light Yagami)
Chapter 1: Light
"So now that L's dead, does that mean you've settled the score with him?" Ryuk asks. "Yeah" I reply. "So with L dead, its gonna get kinda boring around here huh?" he says. "That's not true, your gonna see the creation of the new world!" I reply. After a few hours of writing names while conversing with Ryuk in between I called it a night. I awoke that morning, and walked to the investigation headquarters, which was in the room next to mine. After L's death, we moved the Kira Task Force Headquarters to my new apartment that I share with Misa. The Task Force Members aren't here yet, so I decided to browse the internet, when I came across this article about a murderer called the "Bay Harbor Butcher" the killer was determined to be a man named "James Doakes." I decided to look up James Doakes in the crime database, and nothing showed up. Also, I began checking the murderer disappearances in Miami, Florida and I found that the rate of disappearances was the exact same as the rates where prior to James Doakes' death.
This is good. I think to myself. If the Bay Harbor Butcher is still at large, that could mean one of two things, either he could be a serious threat to my perfect world. Or he could serve to be a great ally. Think about it, he has evaded capture, for decades, (much longer that I have) and is obviously good at covering up murders. I could only imagine what this guy would be like if he owned a Death Note. This could serve to be good for both the "Kira Investigation" and for me, Kira. First thing's first, if I'm gonna somehow get to the Bay Harbor Butcher, I'm gonna have to lead the investigation to Miami. So, I'll get Misa to kill criminals in Miami, and I can use the victim rate as an excuse to move the investigation to Miami.
Just then, the Task Force which includes (Aizawa, Matsuda, My dad, and Mogi) walked through the door, and began to get to work on the case by using our regular routine. "How many victims today?" my father asks. "So far, 13 victims have been reported of dying from a sudden heart attack." I inform them. Which matches what I wrote in the Death Note last night after my little conversation with Ryuk, who now is standing in the corner cackling. I was used to his cackling, that's how he 'usually' reacts to everything. Today was a regular slow day, talking about Kira, and me listening to their ever growing sad attempts at catching him, and by him I mean me. Pretty soon, the day was over, and the task force members where at home, finally. "Misa" I called. "Yeah" she says entering the room. "I need you to do something for me." I say. "Of course, anything for you!" she said in her regular excited tone. "Only kill criminals in Miami tonight, no Japanese criminals." I ask. "I will give you the computer, which has access to the crime databases from Miami, just browse and find the ones you want to punish." I continue. She nodded and went into the other room. The plan has begun, tomorrow I will comment on the sudden increase in death-by-heart-attack rate of criminal deaths in Miami tomorrow and attempt to get us to move the investigation to Miami.
