How Do You Do It?
They were so different and still so alike. She was full with judgement, saw what others told. She wouldn't se beyond his name. He was full with pride, seeing himself above everyone. He too wouldn't see beyond her name. She was as fire, bold and devastating. Temperamental and red headed. Just like fire, if you played too much with it the results would be disastrous and the only one that dared to play with it was him. He on the other side was ice, smooth and hard. A facade, you could not see what was hiding under the ice. Only one could make the ice crack, and that was her. Hate is a strong word, both where sure that they truly hated each other. Until their last year at Hogwarts.
It was when they truly saw the other person,
they realised that it was not hate they felt. But with hate you know
what you are feeling, but this was confusing. You spend six years
hating someone and suddenly you don't. The ice had melted away and
the fire had faltered to embers. They were afraid of not being in
control for once. So they said stupid things and did stupid things.
And thought they were safe. But the pain was unbearable. So one night
they where patrolling. And because his heart was aching he wanted to
pain her so he said:
So how is your boyfriend. I wonder how you
even got one; it's obvious that he isn't in love with you. I'm sure I
will never fall in love with you.
And that was the first time he
ever made her cry since they meet. He had thought that she
reacts the way she used to, call him names ore ignore him, but
she didn't. He saw the navy blue eyes he loved to drown in fill with
tears. And she ran.
They sky was grey, just as his eyes. The rain made a veil on the world. All was grey just as his eyes. She was happy that the rain hid the tears. Wished that the rain would wash away the memory of him. To leave her clean without the pain.
How do you do it, Weasley? said a voice so softly that it was barely hearable. Yes how do you do it? Those mercury grey eyes were different, filled with confusion, questioning and something else, something soft, longing, love she realised.
Do what? He was so close. He was as soaked as her.
To make me feel like this. He took a step closer so she saw his lashes were golden coloured with small shimmering raindrops on them.
To make me want to this. He cupped her face with his hands and gently kissed her forehead. She felt the blood rush, the heart beat in the halls of her mind, she was paralyzed.
Or this. He kissed her cheeks. There his lips had been were was on fire or so cold you're numb.
And mostly this. He kissed her softly on the lips. Before she'd say she liked to kiss, but this was beyond liking. If she wasn't holding fistfuls of his shirt she might fall down. One of his hands was still cupping her face the other was on her back pulling her closer. They had never experienced to be so close to somebody else, just as you pour icy water on a fire, steam rises to the sky, when two become one, merged together. They broke away, she raised her head to se him in the eyes. Midnight blue eyes meet ash grey. He saw the little smile on her lips; he'd spend a lifetime to keep her smiling.
Yes, how do you do it, Rose?
