((My first fanfiction … so I apologize if it is kind of sucky-ish. :P
I love Ao no Exorcist! I've recently started watching the anime, hoping to read the manga soon, but I'm afraid it'll spoil the anime for me …
* * * DISCLAIMER: I do not own Ao no Exorcist (Blue Exorcist), nor any of its characters, settings, etc. They all rightfully belong to its creator and illustrator, KAZUE KATO. I only own my OC's and my original ideas/plot-lines, and anything else that is not canon within THIS story.* * *

Exorcist 01: A Fate-Intertwined Discovery
Rin was scratching his rough, navy-blue hair as he tried the knob to the dorm, frustrated. "Damn you, YUKIO!" he screamed, panting as he dared himself to try the knob one more time. Yukio was late again. It was something that was going on for five days now, continuously, counting today. It was already a problem that Yukio had the key to enter the dorm, not trusting Rin enough, and Rin always returning to the dorm early each day. Rin was irritated by the fact that he had to go through the back door everytime. He couldn't really blame Yukio on his part either, seeing that Yukio was a regular student at True Cross Academy, one of the many teachers for the Exorcism Cram class, and a middle first class exorcist. And a brother.
He gave up and walked to the back, hands in pockets, to try the door there. It was usually kept unlocked for janitorial reasons, which Rin didn't seem to get. Anyone could just go through the back door. He was whistling out of tune, his Koumaken hanging loosely on a velvet-red strap under his arm. Not watching his step, he almost stepped on something that looked like a bundle of blankets. A fierce cry then sounded, hurting your ears at first, though Rin heard innocence in there somewhere.
"What the? ..." Rin took a step back, staring in awe before picking the baby up, wrapped in pale green cloth. He felt more at peace as he looked at the baby.
Voices started echoing in his mind:
It's a human.
Unlike me.
I'm a demon.
A cursed demon.
He snapped out of it. "Uh," he tried a smile, but failed miserably. "I wonder what we're going to do with you. I guess I'll have to wait 'till Yukio gets back." Somehow, he was feeling embarrassed about holding the child. It almost made him feel like... he was a father.
((And again, I really hoped you liked it. Just a note – Koumaken, can also be called Kurikara, though it's hardly referred to as by name. We just know it by Rin's sword. xD))
((I apologize for the terribly short chapter; I'm pretty hard-on with introductions. I cannot promise you that it'll get better, but I'm still working on it and have some ideas laid out for the coming chapters.))
