Hey everyone. This one is written for both Build a Zoo and November Writing Club's Character Appreciation on Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. For Build a Zoo I used the gate prompt of write about a character having either a patronus or animagus form of your favorite animal. For Character Appreciation I used the Sirius prompt of 10. (Ability) Animagus and wrote for the bonus using Sirius. I hope you all enjoy Table Scraps.

There was one thing about having the Animagus of a dog that Sirius Black absolutely loved. That thing was of course being able to get table scraps out of the kinder people he met while on his way to James Potter's house. See he didn't think traveling by Floo Powder would be a good idea because his parents would be able to stop him then. Aparating wasn't going to cut it the last time he'd done that he'd left his big toe behind. Luckily for him it'd been on the floor of his room and he'd had placed back on at St. Mungos. So he figured traveling by foot would be a good idea and to make it so he wasn't easily traceable.

"Mummy," called a small child he was cozying up to in dog form, "the doggy wants food too."

The mother just must have just noticed him looking longingly up at the plate in front of her child. She motioned him over and started petting his head. When the waiter came back she ordered something else which shocked the waiter.

"Is that for the doggy, Mummy?" asked the confused little girl.

The mother nodded as she started to eat some of her dinner every once in a while dropping a piece or more for the 'dog' under the table. "So after dinner do we want to go out for ice cream?" she asked her daughter.

"Yeah," cried the child. "Can we bring the doggy too?"

Sirius looked up imploringly at the mother. They had given him dinner after all the least they could do was offer up some desert. Right? He did his best puppy dog eyes which wasn't that hard seeing as he was actually a dog.

"Of course," the mother replied. "We can bring our new friend to get ice cream with us."

They continued to eat their dinner sharing with Sirius who was starting to get really full. After a while he leaned his head up against the table and took a little nap to let the ladies have their supper in peace.

"Come on, you," the mother said patting Sirius's back after a few minutes of shut eye. "We're going for ice cream now." She motioned for him to follow her and her daughter.

The trip to the ice cream parlor wasn't that long and he'd spotted the sign for James's street along the way. Taking notice of how many blocks away he smiled to himself in dog form as his new friends ordered ice cream for them all.

"Can I feed him his ice cream?" the little girl asked pointing towards Sirius in Padfoot form.

"Eat your own first," her mother stated.

"I can feed us both at the same time."

"I'd like to see that."

The little girl quickly picked up two of the three cones and began to feed Sirius with one and herself with the other. They hadn't been there long when the owner of the store noticed the dog sitting in between the daughter and mother.

"You can't have him in here," the owner stated pointing at a sign that said no dogs allowed.

"We were just leaving, sir," the mother told him. She mumbled under breathe, "See if we ever come back here again. Not serving dogs. There as much a part of someone's family as the people are."

As soon as the door was open Sirius raced away towards James Potter's house. He could hear the little girl calling after him to come back but he couldn't do that. He was human after all.

I hope you all enjoyed Table Scarps.
