It was supposed to be a simple recon mission. Artemis had learned that whenever something was supposed to be simple, it never was.

The team was split up in pairs of two, Superboy and Meghan, Aqualad and Robin, and of course I had to be paired up with Kid Idiot. Just great. We had a simple task, to scout the frozen wastelands of the arctic north. Well, it would of been easy and simple if we hadn't been trudging through ice and snow.

Wally was behind me, dragging his feet. We had been keeping this up for more than 3 hours. My hands were beginning to fell numb, and my head hurt from Wally's constant begging to take a break. I should of listened. I should of payed more attention. We were lost. Both our communicators were frozen, and I was pretty sure I was going to become frozen in a couple hours. I was so focused on finding out where we were, I didn;t hear Wally groan behind me. But I did realize he was no longer following me. I turned around. Wally was on his knees on the ground, arms wrapped around himself, shivering. "Come ON Kid Idiot. We got to get a move on." Wally didn't move. "Do I need to slap you? FOCUS ON THE MISSION! You're such a lazy freak." I couldn't stop the hurtful words from escaping my mouth. I was so frustrated. Why did I get the idiot? Wally's gaze met mine, his eyes were dull. I then realized how blue he was. His lips and skin tinged blue, shivers racking his body. I stared into those green eyes, which had lost their sparkle. I couldn't be falling for Wally, could I? " 'eedsters, can't h-handle c-c-cold." he murmured, words slurring slightly, but I could still understand him. Then his body hit the cold ground.
