Just a quick one shot I've had in my head for a while. As per usual, nothing is mine and I will be really happy if you read and review
"How can I ever thank you enough, Hermione? Without you who knows where I'd be right now? I'd certainly not know I could ever feel this happy - you have no idea how much you've done for me - you truly are the best witch ever. I'm so grateful for everything you've done for Harry, and, as a result, me. With Harry I feel like I'm complete, like I can do anything."
Hermione laughed. "It's fine, honestly. It's not like I could have not saved Harry's life. Not only would I have had to live with the hatred of most of the wizarding world for letting the Boy Who Lived die, but I would have had to live with my self-hatred. There was never another option."
"Yeah, but to save his life basically every single year - you ensured he safely got past all the obstacles guarding the Philosopher's Stone, helped him figure out what was in the Chamber of Secrets, while being Petrified, may I add. You would have died for him during third year - although it turned out that that wasn't really necessary. He wouldn't have made it through the first task of the Triwizard Tournament without you, and you protected each other in the Department of Mysteries. Sixth year, you once again had each other's backs. I'm not going to even go into your seventh year; it'd take way too long. You've done so much more for him than anyone else would have done – hardly anyone's friendship stretches to what you and Harry have. And, as I said, I'm so thankful for that."
Hermione had to bite back a laugh, dramatic much? Oh, they were continuing - had to look like she was taking this seriously, otherwise, they may continue for longer in an attempt to get their point across.
"Thank you so much for making me so happy - I know I'm completely unworthy, but if there's anything you need, anything, then just tell me, and I will do it without hesitation."
Hermione looked down at the person who was thanking her from the bottom of their heart for saving their boyfriend's life. She just couldn't resist teasing them slightly, after all, it was so easy to do so.
"You'll do anything at all? No limits, you'll just do it for me?"
"Anything." they confirmed.
"Well, all my books need to be arranged in alphabetical order. I suppose you could start with that. That'll give me plenty of time to put my feet up and think of something else for you to do."
Harry, the very person whose constant survival, no matter what the odds, had caused this conversation to start, strolled in through the door right at that moment, and burst out laughing at the sight of his partner on their knees at Hermione's feet, looking slightly scared at the idea of organising Hermione's vast collection of books.
"Hermione, stop teasing the poor man. And Draco, really? That's the fourth time this week. It's been three years since Voldemort was defeated, and you still insist on thanking Hermione every day? I'm not going anywhere, she knows you're grateful, you really go not need to get down on bended knee every day to thank her. Now, come on love, otherwise we'll be late for the party. " Draco got up and made his way over to his boyfriend, taking Harry's hand in his own. Harry planted a quick kiss on his lips, then turned and looked at Hermione.
"Are you sure you don't want to come with us?"
Hermione nodded her head. "I'm sure. I'll see you there. Fred will be home shortly, he's probably just locking up. We'll meet you there, right?"
Harry nodded, squeezed Draco's hand slightly, and, waving goodbye to Hermione, left, leaving her to wait for her boyfriend to appear and, while she was waiting, to laugh at Draco's antics.
