Queen and Emma

AN: Hey this is the author speaking! Ahem! ** clears throat.** I plan to make this a pretty good story, but I suck at summaries, so read on PLEASE! This story is about two little girls who are separated because of racism. By second grade, they forgot about each other.

Chapter 1

Flashback (Emma's perspective):It was the first day of preschool, and I was so scared. Than I saw this little girl. She looked exactly like me, except the way she looked. She was dark. And from the start l knew we would be friends.

"Mommy, mommy!" I said, tugging my mom's arms. "Look at that girl! She's going to be MY friend!"

"Of course NOT, honey," mommy had answered. "She's black, and little girls don't hang out with black girls."

FLASHBACK (Queen's View): There was Emma. Standing there, hugging her mom. I looked around and cried a little. I had no mama. Or father. I had to live with grandparents, and cousins. Suddenly the little white girl gave me her hand, obviously against her mother's will, and said, "come. Come. I will be your friend."

Her mama snatched my hand away from hers, and hissed to her little girl, "she's a black, honey. Go hang around white girls." She led Emma to these white girls (brats, in my opinion) by the name of Katrina, Amy and Ellie. Emma turned around and waved sorrow fully, and faced the brats.

END OF FLASHBACKS

Queen, now going to fifth grade (summer of fourth grade) shook her head in anger.

"Why must I suffer doing work in the middle of summer?" she yelled, "I am only going to be in fifth grade!" She put a big X on her paper and threw it on the ground.

"Honey, what's wrong with you?" her aunt, or 'mom' as her aunt wanted her to call her.

"Nothing, Aunt Latifah," Queen said.

A/N: Get it? Queen Latifah?

"Mom, mother, mommy, or some sort of crap like that!" her aunt said. Aunt Latifah didn't care if she cussed in front of Queen, she knew that her 'daughter' wouldn't repeat it.

"Latifah, you're not my mother, so I am not calling you that. And," Queen continued, "I don't want to call you Aunt anymore. Okay?"

"Whatever," Latifah said and walked away. Latifah scratched at her work. Suddenly, an owl flew over her shoulder and threw a heavy parchment letter at her.

"What the heck?" Queen asked. She ripped open the parchment and read it.

Dear Ms. Queen Elliot,

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry-

Queen didn't even read the rest of the letter. She ran to her aunt and yelled, "LATIFAH!" Latifah ran up the stairs.

"What?" she asked. Queen threw the letter at her.

"Oh, you got it! I was expecting it! It must be late."

"What?" asked Queen. "You knew?"
