There always was something in the back of their minds when waiting.

Every day they would wait for Danny, facing the door, looks of disapproval on their face.

They usually didn't have to wait long, half an hour at most.

The waits longer than that, sometimes it became agony.

They knew that it was just Danny losing track of time.

But there was always doubt.

The idea of something else (too difficult to think of) never would leave their minds.

When Danny came through the door offering feeble excuses, they would punish him.

They never admitted the sigh of relief.

AN: Drabble (100 words exactly). They're really difficult. Might add on to this to.
