A/N- For those of you who might have forgotten, Marietta Edgecombe is the person who leaks the room where the DA practices to Umbridge. She is also Cho Chang's best friend. That said-enjoy the story!

Disclaimer- I don't own anything but this story.

She was singing. She sat alone in the train compartment, a sheer black balaclava over her head, to cover the boils. A tear rolled down her cheek, but the melody never wavered. She listened to the train

listened to the train door compartment open- wait. What? She looked at the intruder's shoes. They were gleaming black ballet flats. The she-intruder had slipped her shoes on over sheer thigh length stockings. Her eyes roved upwards hesitantly and saw a medium length skirt, it folds lying peacefully on the cloth. If she looked really close, she could even spot the lone thread that hadn't been cut properly on the side of the skirt lining. She looked up and then stopped abruptly. The she-intruder sweater had a thick blue lining with minute scribbles on it-

She cleared her throat, and said in a raspy voice, "Get out."

Cho made a small noise of disagreement. She started towards the other girl, whispering, "Marie, please. Please don't be like this."

"Be like what? Ugly? Well, I'm sorry I couldn't match up to your tastes," Marietta scoffed derisively.

Cho sat down next to her. The seat creaked and Marietta shifted at the change in balance. They sat in silence and listened

Cho heaved a breath and muttered, "You know very well I didn't mean it like that. I-I…" She swiftly leaned over and switched off the light and drew the curtains. They sat in silence again. The smallest rays of light peeped through the edges of the curtains, and from the bottom of the door.

Cho tugged the top of the balaclava and pulled it off Marietta's head. Marietta clenched the windowsill and looked at Cho-or rather the vague outline that was now Cho- and put her hand on Cho's.

"Marie…Marie, I love you."

Marietta blinked and stumbled back, trying to press herself against corner of the compartment, as if to mold into the walls. She shook her head vehemently, "You love Potter- or Cedric- not…not…"

Vague-outline-Cho was suddenly in her face, snarling words at her like they were weapons, "No, I didn't. I never did. You wouldn't understand. You told me I loved Cedric. You told me I loved Potter. It was you, it was always you."

Marietta turned away, trying to think past the pounding in her head.

"-Cho…Cho," she whispered. "Cho."

She reached out and tugged the balaclava from Cho's loose grip, allowing the barest touch of skin to skin contact, and for a minute, the world stood still.

Then, it was over. Marietta tugged the balaclava over her head, and flipped the switch on. The blinding light glared at them, unforgiving, and Marietta stood up. Cho reached out quickly to grasp her wrist, anything to stop her from leaving, and Marietta's fingers curled over Cho's and she sighed.

"I'm sorry."

She pulled out of her grasp and pushed the door open, slipping out. The door slid back smoothly.
