Hi, so first time writing Percabeth. Yep gotta love this couple! :D anyways…this is a one-shot about Percy and Annabeth falling down Tartarus
Disclaimer: I don't own these awesome characters. (Sentences in bold are from the book)
A one-way trip, a very hard fall… Annabeth tried not to think of this, but she couldn't help it, the words kept playing back in her mind.
Haunting her, tormenting her, mocking her.
That stupid spider, this stupid pit, those stupid gods. Of course this had to happen, just when Percy and the rest of the seven had come to rescue her that just had to happen… Now all she could do was hope, pray that the Athena Parthenos was safe…or all that work was for nothing.
Her ankle burst into pain suddenly, this air pressure must not be too great for it…
"Ah!" she couldn't hold it in, pain blinding her for a second.
Percy looked at her, concerned, "You okay, Wise girl?"
All she could do was nod, biting back tears; it felt like it was getting broken all over again. Red-hot pain bursting from her ankle as she fell…
Percy didn't look convinced, "Annabeth…" He put a hand on her shoulder.
"I'm sorry, Percy," she couldn't help herself; it had been nagging her ever since their fall. The fall that felt like 5 years ago…she almost didn't want to reach the bottom, but she was sick of the anticipation of it…
"What do you mean?" he asked, confused.
"It's Tartarus. That's not really Disney land, Percy…gods, I can not believe this happened to us…" Annabeth was getting frustrated; it all looked the same…as if no time had passed. It was dark, but her eyes had gotten used to it. The pit's walls were the same dull, dark brown color…
it was like they were trying to make her believe it had only been a few minutes…that there was sunlight just above their heads.
Of course she wouldn't dare to look up, that would be sickening, sickening to look up and instead of seeing clear blue sky, seeing more dull, dark brown…it was suffocating and sickening…
"Annabeth…We're staying together…" Percy smiled, trying to be confident.
"As long as we're together…" she murmured, softly, that was what she had said before they fell.
"You're not getting away from me. Never again," Percy, promised, the same thing he had said before he let go of the ledge…and they fell.
A look came over his face, like he just realized that. He grinned, and she could almost forget that they were falling thousands of feet down to a literal hellhole.
Silence reigned for a while before Percy spoke, "So, what shall we do to pass the time?" Percy said as casually as if he was asking her if she wanted a soda.
"Anything you want, Seaweed brain," Annabeth grinned as well, finally they were alone together now, and would be for a she didn't know, forever? And even if it wasn't under the best circumstances, and even though she was falling into a terrible abyss, a damned monster hole, there was no one in the world she would rather fall with than her Seaweed brain. After all it was long way down.
End. What did you think?
