I see the hurt

I see the lies

I see her pain

I see her cry

She wants him back

She wants him home

She wants him here

She wants him gone

"Meloetta," he'd say

"Don't worry about it,

I promise it'll all be okay."

"Keldeo," she'd reply

"Why should I believe

Such a far-fetched lie?"

"You don't believe," he would respond

"You keep on hoping,

You smile and nod."

"But hope is the same," she would shoot back

"You think all the best

Then fear will attack."

"My dear," he would state

"Belief's from the mind

But hope's home is great."

"And where," she retorted

"Would that place lie

Without being caught and thwarted?"

"The best place," he'd often claim

"It lies in your heart

Near a beautiful name."

"Well now," she would mutter

"What name is it

That the heart will utter?"

"Why," he'd decree

"Your heart spells out

The name of thee!"

"And," she would add

"It holds a place for you;

For that alone I am glad."

"Good," he would wink

"Now I'll venture out

And return in a blink."

He didn't come back

He didn't return

He didn't blink

He didn't feel her concern

The lie of a lifetime

Was told on that night

He'd said it was fine

And he'd be all right

The hunters came,

Fought like no tomorrow

They don't know of her grief

They don't see her sorrow

Only I

One who died long ago

Can see her pain

Can view her woe

She misses her love

Misses him everyday

She wonders how

It ended up this way

But I, lowly Cubone

Shall watch over this beauty

As Keldeo had

For it is my duty

This widow, this maid

Seems so forlorn

But I will lift her up

Get her through each morn
