"How could I be so stupid!?" Donald muttered at himself, he thought that things would change. That Maybe Scrooge would stop treating him like a thing, that he won't be tossed around like a toy by him. He thought that Scrooge had learned by now that he couldn't just be used as bait or a test subject. He thought that ended 10 years ago when they lost Della, he thought that Scrooge learned that Family doesn't treat Family as a thing to only be thrown to the sided when not needed. "Oh I'm Scrooge McDuck, I'm okay with treating me nephew like he isn't a living thing!" Donald said angrily trying to copy his Uncle's accent. Donald wanted to mentally slap himself with his stupidity, "Why did I think that things could change. That just Maybe... Just Maybe... He would stop" Donald said ending it softly. Thought himself as an idiot for thinking like that. Sure his Uncle did that before and he got used to it but it had been 10 Years since he dropped into danger like of course he wouldn't just be okay with that. Even if it had been 10 years since he had seen his Uncle he thought he had changed, that his adventures with him would be like before, Donald let himself think like. But deep inside he knew that he was nothing but a pawn to be thrown away when no longer needed to Scrooge. He learned that when they went to visit Gladstone after his Uncle didn't even give a second thought before gambling his life to a Luck Demon. Even if it were a trick it still hurt. After all he always noticed how his uncle treated him differently than his sister, Della. How he favored Della over him, always giving her all his love, praise, attention and even showered her with gifts. Something he didn't even dare to do with Donald, he remembered when he got frostbite and could have died because of his Uncle and his Uncle didn't even notice. What hurt his heart even more was that his sister was about the same with him pushing him sided as well. That left him heartbroken. After all those years that he could have died without them noticed, he got used to and knew that they didn't care about him nor his life. Sure it hurt him very deeply but it was the truth, horrible but the truth. As always he learned to live with, maybe he could again. At least none of the kids were going through the same thing, he was more than willing to take that place for the kids to not go through the same thing like he did. After by the end of the day he forgives his Uncle mentality since if that he only way he can help his family, he's more than willing to help them. After all Family helps Family...
