A/N: Hello All! This is just a brief one shot I wrote a while ago and felt like posting. I don't own Doctor Who, though I do wish I had a TARDIS. I hope you enjoy!

The date was the 26th of April 1941 and it was Rose Tyler's birthday. For General James Noble it was a special day. It had been over a year since he had seen Rose. She was going to be 25, his love. He walked up the front steps of the mansion where the party was. He could hear the band playing. He slipped into the room, scanning for Rose. He was still in his uniform. He saw his sister, Donna, and her husband, Captain Jack Harkness, Nurse Martha Jones, Amy and Rory Williams, and Mickey Smith. But no Rose. Jackie Tyler and Pete Tyler spot him rushing over to him. Jackie hugs him and Pete shakes his hand.

"Where's Rose?" James asks.

"She's in her room. She'll be out soon. Don't let her see you. It's gonna be a surprise!" Jackie says.

"Okay" he nods, still scanning to room anyways. He was too anxious.

That's when Rose stepped out onto the balcony. She was wearing a pink dress that went just below her knees with sleeves that hit her forearm. Her short blond hair was pinned back. James gasped. She was so beautiful. She made her way down the stairs to Jackie and Pete, who had walked toward her. James stayed where he was, patiently waiting for people to say hello and happy birthday to her. Eventually, she was making her way in his direction him. Just as planned with Jackie, the banded started playing their song, In the Mood.

"May I have this dance?" James asked from behind Rose.

Rose froze and turned quickly to see James, making her dress twirl around her. She throws her arms around his neck, pulling him into a hug. He wraps his arms around her waist in response, laughing.

"You're here! It's been over a year James!" Rose cries into his shoulder.

"I know, I'm sorry. I've tried writing letters but I've been busy; although, I do have a stack that I never sent you." he explains to her.

"You haven't... you haven't been... been seeing anyone else?" Rose asks pulling away from him a little to look at him.

"No. How could I?" He says immediately looking into her eyes. "Before I left, I never told you. I love you Rose. I love you so much."

She was crying now. "I love you too." She whispered, pulling him into a brief kiss. She broke the kiss and grabbed his hand.

"Now come on. Let's dance!"

And Rose Tyler and James Noble danced the night away, together at last.
