Losing Love

Summary: M/L , Max is leaving for Antar. He went to Liz to say goodbye, stayed for the night, and, well, you know what happened. The day after, Liz wakes up to realize he left. She goes after him .

Disclaimer: I own nothing Roswell-related, it ain't mine, it all belongs to the UPN, Jason Katims and Melinda Metz, etc., etc. Can I be more specific?

Author's Note: This is my very first (very short) fanfic. I wrote it for English class. We had to write a love story, based on a quote, and since I couldn't write about spaceships and other alien related stuff, I kind of left that out. So, as Michael once said, substitute the ship for a spaceship, and you know what I mean. (I'm Dutch, so if you see any errors, please tell me). Well, read it, enjoy it (or not), and please, please, please REVIEW! Got it?

"The same wind snuffs candles, yet kindles flames; so where absence kills a little love, it fans a great one."

She had to get him. She had to make him understand. She needed him to understand. When she arrived, she pushed an astonished Michael out of her way and ran to the ship. She walked carefully but fast over the gangway, clutching her journal tightly against her chest. "Max! Max wait!" she screamed. He turned around with the same painful look he'd had yesterday night. The same helpless look he had when he said, "I don't understand." Last night, she had told him that it didn't matter anymore. Nothing mattered anymore, not now that he was leaving. But at this moment she him to know. "Max," she said breathlessly, tears clouding her vision. "Liz?" he hesitantly asked. She pushed her journal into his hands. "I want you to understand," she said. He knew what she meant. They always knew what the other meant. "You should get off of the ship," he stated. She slowly retreated, her eyes never leaving his. "I'll come back for you," he said. "It may take me a year, ten years or more, but I swear that, when I die, it will be in your arms." She nodded, forming a weak smile. "I'll wait for you," she said. "I'll wait for you." She raised her hand and reached out for him, even though she knew she'd never be able to touch him. He imitated her gesture. No words were spoken. No words were necessary. She watched him leave and kept standing there, even though the ship was long gone. "I love you, Max," she whispered into the night. "I love you, and I'll remember you."

So, what do you think? Should I write more fanfics? Please review!! I'm begging you on my knees (what, by the way, really hurts). I love quotes of writers and other people (I collect them). Do you know some? Please mail them to me (alienlover@hotmail.com)! I think I've done my portion of begging for today. This was it! And don't think about getting away without reviewing!!
