Sakura awoke, a light yawn escaping her lips. She stared out her window, the sunlight streaming in and warming her face. Her heart fluttered.

She had waited for this day, the anticipation seeming to bubble up within her until it exploded and she was all smiles, humming a quiet tune as she took a quick shower and slipped into her clothes, her smile widening subconsciously as she realized she no longer needed to cover up her arms and legs for warmth against the harsh winter.

She tied on her hitai-ate, the feeling of pride welling up in her chest as she caught a quick glimpse of herself in the mirror.

Slipping petite feet into her sandals, she let a sigh escape her cherry red lips when she was finally outside.

The cold had finally subsided, and she realized she wasn't the only one waiting for today as she leisurely walked by smiling, laughing families, the village seeming to light up with joy under the warmth of the sun.

She took in everything, even the leaves sweeping by her feet, the gentle breeze making them dance everywhere.

The birds chirped their happy song as she continued walking, unsure of where her feet were taking her. She caught sight of blonde and orange, and he greeted her loudly. She smiled, bowing in respect at the new Hokage, and Naruto couldn't fight his grin as he relished in the bright shade of her happy green eyes and beautiful smiles. He would never miss the flat color they had taken on so many years ago when part of her happiness had been ripped from her, but her newfound happiness always pleasantly surprised him, even if it wasn't so new.

"I'm meeting Hinata at Ichiraku's, wanna come?" He asked, almost not hearing her answer over his rumbling stomach.

"No, thanks, Naruto, I want to take a walk. I missed the sunshine." She said, smiling as he feigned disappointment. She knew he was going to devour a good amount of ramen whether she was there or not. Plus, Hinata deserved some alone time with him, what with him being busy with mountains of paperwork and his countless other duties. She had to bit her lip from giggling as she thought, he's worse than Tsunade-shishou.

"Oh. Well, maybe next time then, eh? See you later, Sakura-chan!"

She waited until he was lost in the crowded streets of Konoha to start walking again. She continued on until she found herself at a familiar bridge over a familiar river. She noticed the lone figure standing there, leaning with an the usual accustomed elegance about him on the handrail. Somehow, she knew she'd find him here.

She walked up to him quietly, placing both her hands on the handrail and watching the koi swim below the surface, some of them hiding under the numerous Lilly pads.

"It's so beautiful today, don't you think so, Sasuke-kun?" she breathed quietly. After a few silent moments, she was surprised when she felt his hands around her waist, pulling her closer next to him as laid his chin on the top of her head. She smiled, not fighting the blush that found its way to her cheeks this time. She simply stood there as she took a mental picture of this perfect moment, saving it somewhere in the back of her mind.

"Yes, it is."

She could already picture the small curve of his lips as she placed her hands over his.

I love the springtime.

Hope you all enjoyed this little SasuSaku drabble. I was inspired by, of course, the arrival of one of my favorite times of year, and Kina Grannis's song "Mr. Sun", which is the most peaceful and relaxing thing I've ever heard; I love it.

I don't own anything except the somewhat plot of this short drabble.

Feel free to review and let me know what you think, no rude comments please, just friendly criticism and/or what you liked about it.

Happy spring!

Until next time,
