Looking back you see bits and fragments that stick out like shards of glass.
Everything ends.
Your innocence is stolen, slowly or maybe all at once.
Childhood fades away into a distant memory protected by a rose-colored glass.
You grow taller and maybe wiser. Your shoes no longer fit on your feet. You no longer need to ride in the backseat.
It slowly becomes harder and harder to remember what their laugh sounds. The words to your old favorite song begin to escape you. Memories collect dust and eventually fade into the background.
People change. Children grow up. Friends drift apart. hearts are broken. life is extinguished.
But there's beauty in endings.
