Bad Day
Amy pulled her thin coat around her body more, it was yet another cold wet day in kohona. She'd just been fired from her job. And she was being evicted from her apartment the letter arrived that morning… to make thing worse she had received a call at lunch saying her mother was in hospital with cancer.
Thunder sounded over head announcing a storm as it began to rain. She dident have an umbrella.
Her usually blond hair darkened from the ran and clung to her face as her cloths got soaked in the down pour.
Her thin coat was black and she wore it over her not so warm waitress outfit…. She was trying to keep dry under a news paper till a car drove past her and soaked her with a puddle. She began to run in high heels as her tram left its stop, she dident want to walk four blocks in the rain… she almost caught up with it but her heel became trapped in a drain and broke off.
She sighed sitting don on a bench the rain washed her make up over her face and she was cold.
She cried to her self her tears mixing with the rain as she looked up at the blackened sky. She looked like a drowned rat her usually happy blue eyes now darkened and depressed as she stared at the water cascading down a drain.
She was startled as some one put a green jacket over her, the soft fleece lining material was warm and soft.
"you look lost." a voice said a small cough ending the sentence. As she continued to look at the floor.
"I'm not lost I live a few blocks from here. I'm just having a really bad day." she said as lightning flashed and the rain came down heavier. The wind had also picked up making her shiver.
She flinched as who ever that person was sat beside her and drew her into a warm hug.
"Don't get sick its not fun….and bad things can only get better." he said coughing during his sentence. She noticed his voice was rough and grainy, and his breaths were raspy. She warmed up as he hugged her. But she started to get cold again when he let go of her and stood up.
"I have to go." he said walking away. As the rain began to ease up.
"wait what's your name?" she asked calling after him.
"Hayate." he said giving her a slight wave as he carried on going.
"Hayate…." she repeated to her self before realising she still had his jacket, she went to call after him to tell him that he'd forgotten it but he was already gone.
Sighing she stood up and headed home, it had stopped raining and was brightening up and the suns rays started to shine through the cloud. Things cant get worse they can only get better.
