Everything was a blur. The last few days had been the worst of his entire life. He had lost so many of his good friends to an indescribable evil. The terrible scenes playing over and over in his mind. * wasn't sure if he would ever wake up from this nightmare.
The boy opened his eyes, only to find that every ounce of the world he once knew had now disappeared. All that was left was a void of emptiness. That same emptiness could be used to describe his current state; a broken man, stripped of his humanity. Nothing more than a lifeless program in a game. * wondered how long it had been, since he last saw another person.
's thoughts were interrupted, as a cheerful voice entered his mind.
"Are you okay, *?"
shivered. That voice. He knew exactly who it belonged to.
"This won't do. Hold on, *. I'll find us a place where we can talk."
A bright light flooded his vision. In the next instant, he found himself in a chair. * scanned his surroundings. At first glance, it seemed like an ordinary classroom. Beige walls, a light tile ceiling, and wood floors. Two windows, one on each side of the classroom. Dark crimson curtains blocked almost any light rom entering the room.
Under normal circumstances, * would have been happy to be back in class.
Except, this time, there was a girl sitting in front of him. She wore a dark grey school uniform, with a bright red ribbon tied arround her neck. A large white bow held most of her back In a ponytail. To most, she appeared to be the perfect image of a high school girl.
To , she was the "person" who he had come to despise even more than the evil itself. Or maybe that was what she was; the physical embodiment of all evil. The girl smiled. A smile * had seen too many times to count. Just a few days ago, he might have smiled back. But now, he knew better.
The girl began to speak, but to , it was just words. Words with no meaning. It was as if the girl was speaking through him, to someone else. He couldn't move or speak. All he could do was sit there and watch.
