God of War
Beast Within
Introduction: For the God of War fans out there who beat the first game and watched the bonus features of the "next chapter" in the story of Kratos, this is my version of the story of Kratos and his brother… Anastasius which actually means "resurrection."
Chapter One
Kratos was in great sorrow, after the Gods had made him the God of war Kratos prayed for his nightmares of his past to go away, but they had not. Not only had the gruesome visions of his past haunted him but now he started seeing haunting visions of his childhood as well. "When will this nightmare end!?" Kratos's voice echoed down the corridors.
The visions were blurry at first but as weeks past they got clearer everyday. Kratos, in attempt to block these visions out, kept busy by helping the Spartans defeat parts of Greece and Persia. Even though during the time he was in battle he did not see his nightmares, at night in his sleep… they came. Visions of suppressed memories came rolling back, visions of him as a child with his brother. Inseparable the two were until that fateful day when it was time to separate the weak from the strong, and Anastasius was sent to the Mountains to fend for himself, not expected to come back. Although some did Kratos waited for months and years but Anastasius never returned.
Kratos let out a yell that caused half the Spartans to jump, "When will I find the way to make these visions stop? My nightmares haunt me and the Gods do nothing!"
"Kratos, you cannot blame the Gods for your visions for they are of your past." Athena's voice seemed to be close.
"ATHENA! Where are you, show your self!" Kratos was not a big fan of surprises nor the Gods so when it is both at the same time he gets extremely angry, especially since the God who is doing the surprising is Athena.
"Kratos, do not be alarmed. The God of War is needed on Olympus there is a problem." Her voice was smooth and soothing.
"How Does this concern me?"
"It concerns all the Gods for we are all in danger."
"It does not concern me."
"Kratos, it concerns you the most… for it concerns your brother Anastaius."
Kratos was shocked. How could this be about his brother, his brother was dead and he knew it. What could this possibly have to do about his brother, Kratos thought. "Athena I will make the trip but if you are lying you will fall, before the God of War."
