Fallen Angels

Summary: Just a small idea I had and wanted to write I down just to get it out there.

Voice's POV

My Max stood and looked out off of the cliff. She looked around and took a deep breath inhaling the sweet piney scent that seemed to hang ominously around the area. Behind her was a large pine tree forest. The needles still fresh and green. The ground beneath the trees was clear of any needles at all. Max looked around and closed her eyes. She wished it would all go away. I said to her, "I wish I could make it all go away for you Max, I really wish I do." She didn't respond. If I had eyes I would have closed them, and if I had breath I would have sighed. So she was actually going to go through with it. I would have smiled if I could. She finally saw what was best for her. Leaving behind the flock, everyone, and everything. Most people would not have seen this as a solution but more of just running away and hiding. But it was leaving them behind, because, if you went here, you could never go back. Max turned towards the forest, tilted back off the cliff and fell.

Max's POV

I stood in front of a large pine forest. The sickly sweet smell invading my nostrils like a poisonous gas. I almost gagged from the scent. I thought back to everything I was running away from. Yeah, that's right, I was running away. The great Maximum Ride was running away. My voice had said it wasn't running away but leaving them behind, but I still think, I'm running away and leaving them behind. I have no real remorse about it. I don't really see how it would make a large difference. I'm gone either way… So, I closed my eyes and tilted backwards off the cliff. You know, they say it's best to do it backwards because you can't see the ground rushing up to meet you…

Fang POV

I flew and I flew. I could barely see a small form on a large cliff in the distance. I tried to go faster, faster, to reach her. I couldn't let her fall, no, not again. Never again. I had made a promise, but I had broken it. I had then made a new one to myself. And now she was about to break it for me. I was going as fast as I could go. I could see her body fall off the cliff. I knew I would never catch her, but I had to try. I flew as fast as I could in a desperate attempt to save her.

Voice's POV

Max had her eyes closed but I could I could still see what was happening. As the ground rushed closer I looked away. I sighed, in what way I can, and stayed silent letting Max enjoy the quiet peacefulness, probably the only peace she'd ever had…

Max's POV

I could feel the wind in my face and whipping through my hair. It felt so peaceful, that I never wanted to let go. So I enjoyed the moment while it lasted.

Fang's POV

I saw her body hit the ground, the sick crunch that followed after. And I began to cry. I cried because of my stupidity, I cried because of her stupidity, I cried because I lost a friend, I cried because I had lost the only person who every really knew me, but I mostly cried because I had lost the one I loved with all my heart, all because I was stupid…

Normal POV

In the middle of a large pine forest atop a cliff, a loud crunch resounded throughout the forest. As if on signal needles from trees fell to the ground in a peaceful motion. They did it without haste or worry, as natural as can be. And in the center of the forest, the largest tree fell over, not a noise made though, as it landed on a bed of needles. And carved into the bark were the words MAX + FANG 4EVER. Encircled by a heart, but the name fang was crossed out, and one could see dark areas where something had fallen and stained the tree. Almost like the tears of a fallen angel…

And so my OneShot concludes. I hope you like it, and if enough people ask I may even be convinced to write a prequel. And if you don't get the ending, read it again, I'm pretty sure I made it fairly obvious.
