Yes, Little Sister

Summary: Emmett's thoughts on his little sister. Tag to the vote scene in New Moon Movie.

Before Edward found Bella, I always thought our life was complete. I had everything a normal family had; a mom, dad, wife, sister and two brothers. I never really needed anything else. Esme and Carlisle were always there to keep us out of trouble. Rosie was my one true love; my savior. Alice, of course, was my little sister, but she never really needed anything from me; she was so independent and capable. And Jazzy and Edward were my brothers. We always messed with each other, but I know I would always do anything I could for either of them. I didn't really ever want anything else; until I met Bella.

One of the reasons I love hanging around with Eddie and Bella is because I love the way she acts around me. Bella is my perfect little sister. I feel so protective of her, yet I can't help but make fun of her clumsy human actions.

If Ed would just turn her already, life would be perfect. Jasper wouldn't be uncomfortable all the time, Rose would be able to move on because her decision will have already been made, and I can have fun with her like a big brother should, without worrying about hurting her.

If it was up to me, I'd have already changed her.

When she came to us after Volterra, I knew my answer before she even asked the question. Alice went up first and told her yes; then Jasper. He looked happy at the prospect of being able to unite with his little sister, without a monumental struggle.

Then, she looked at me and I ran to her and grabbed her up into my arms and twirled her around. I want her with us so badly; I will do anything to keep her around. She looked so happy when I held her. She doesn't have a big brother to look up to, so I'm it I guess. Right now, she needs protecting, but, I fear one day, she won't need that from me anymore. But now, I'm content playing the overprotective, yet, dare I say, terribly funny, older brother, "I say hell yes!"
