Fathers
The very first day that Tsuna remembers meeting his father was when he was five. He and Natsu, his twin brother had been out playing in the park. When it was almost time for them to go home a man approached them. He was wearing a pinstriped suite and his hair was jet black and styled messily. When he reached them he offered them some candy that he appeared to have on him.
Tsuna did not trust him. He had been taught from an early age not to trust stranger's especially ones that tried to give him something. Natsu on the other hand was not as smart as Tsuna and accepted the candy immediately only to have Tsuna knock it out of his hand. The man seemed angry that Tsuna had done something like that and asked why.
Tsuna looked at the man and simply said "You're a stranger. Mama said not to take anything from strangers," The man looked even sadder when he said this but answered with "But I am not a stranger, I am your father," Tsuna looked at him and shook his head.
"Fathers are people that are there for their children. I have never seen you before in my life so you cannot be my father" the man looked even sadder at that but then turned to Natsu. "Do you feel this way as well" he asked. Natsu looked angrily at the man that had called himself their father and said "I do not need a father that makes mom cry at night because you were never their I agree with Tsuna you are not our father"
That was when the twin's mother came up. "Oh sweetie how are you" she was so excited to see her husband after so many years but the look on his face made her pause. He looked as if he had just seen a puppy kicked. His eyes where moist with unshed tears and his mouth was trembling with barely concealed sobs.
It looked as if he had finally realized what he had done when he left them alone for five years to work. He finally understood that his family had grown up without him and had grown up strong without his influence. He also realized that he had failed as both a father and a husband. He had concentrated on his work and in return he had lost his children and made his wife unhappy.
He had lost all that had ever made him happy. He had turned away from his family and not even noticed and now he was going to face the consequences of that choice. But he would try to make up for all the time he had lost. He would try to make his family happy again and hope they could forgive him.
