Paninya's joints always ached when it rained.
They thrummed, phantom limbs aching to move and extend themselves, to work themselves out and enjoy the kiss of rain. Yet she couldn't: the rain would end up decaying her automail, setting rust into the joints and under screws, making it less efficient and, eventually, making the flesh the metal attached itch and ache.
"Thinking?" a voice said, soft and sweet. Paninya snapped out of her thoughts, and turned to face Winry.
"Ah, yeah. Just… aching," Paninya said, sighing. She shifted her left leg, flexing the remain limb, glad to be free of the aching metal. She reached down and rubbed it with a warm, damp towel, and sighed, warmth seeping into it. Thunder boomed outside and the rain slapped harder against the window panes, rattling the glass in the frame.
"Ah, weather aches. They're the worst with mail," Winry said, nodding as she shifted to sitt down in front of Paninya's right leg. Carefully, she undid the screws, . There was a soft hiss and the automail leg detached. Winry cradled it, setting it gently on the ground, and took to running another cloth over Paninya's other leg. "T-Thanks, Winry," Paninya said, sighing and reclining in the chair as Winry bathed her legs.
Winry smiled and nodded, nuzzling Paninya's thigh. "No problem, dear. After all, I've got to make sure my clients are well cared for."
Paninya snorted, taking the rag in her lap and throwing it in Winrhy's face. Winry giggled and tossed the rag aside, cheeks red with mirth as she kissed Paninya's legs, wrapping her arms around them, pulling her closer. "Better?"
Paninya exhaled, lips curling into a smile. Despite the growing cold, Paninya felt warmed all the way through, body filled with an ever-growing feeling much akin to love. "Better."
