Kennedy was nothing like Buffy. It was a thought she generally took pride in, but she knew the differences were especially apparent when it came to Faith. It was true, Faith and Kennedy had a tendency to get more than a little physical from time to time but it wasn't like when Faith and Buffy had a fight. Buffy and Faith tended to work out their issues by cold cocking one another in the jaw. That was why Kennedy was surprised when Faith's fist smarted against her jaw from out of nowhere.

"What the hell was that for?" Kennedy exclaimed rubbing a hand against the sore part of her jaw as she glared up at Faith.

"You've been distracted all day. What gives?" Faith demanded, arching an eyebrow and placing one hand on her hip in that way that could only drive Kennedy absolutely crazy. She hated it when Faith pretended to be the boss. Well, technically Faith was the boss but Kennedy wasn't one to stop for semantics.

"So what? Now I can't be distracted without you punching me in the face?" The younger slayer scowled, feeling the intense urge to hit Faith back take hold of her skin.

Faith shrugged before grabbing Kennedy quickly and throwing the smaller girl half away across the room. Kennedy landed with a grunt and before she could get up Faith was there again, another fist in her face.

"Guess not." Was all she said, getting ready to punch the other girl again.

"What are you doing?" Kennedy yelled, springing to her feet and evading Faith's well-timed punches. "Just...stop it!" As soon as the words left her mouth, her fist connected so hard with Faith's chin she was surprised she didn't knock her whole head off.

"What's buggin' you, Ken? Come on. Just tell me." Faith barely got the words out before she attacked again, the two of them moving in a small, dark and synchronized tempest of fists and fury. The fact that the two of them had worked together for nearly a year makes fighting eachother problematic because they simply knew eachother too well. Just as Kennedy threw out a fist Faith ducked as if she could see it coming and vice versa. It was nothing but a losing blinding battle with the occasional connect.

"It's. Nothing." Kennedy bit out between ducking and punching and suddenly she realized she had had enough. Lunging at Faith she threw the other slayer to the floor and straddled her, pinning her wrists into the mats of the training room.

"Don't you know what today is?" She suddenly railed out, her fingers tightening on Faith's wrists.

"No. What's today?" Confusions played itself out behind Faith's dark eyes as she searched Kennedy's for something other than indignation.

"It's been a year. A year since we beat the First. Since all of those girls died." Kennedy finally admits, feeling her hold on Faith finally loosen. She hated the look in Faith's eyes, the confusion suddenly mutating into understanding and something close to guilt.

"I didn't know..." The words slipped out of Faith's mouth and Kennedy finally understood that she had been allowed this one chance. One oppurtunity to pin Faith down even if somewhere deep down she also understood that Faith let her be on top. Just this once. Kennedy wondered if this was the guilt that she knew she'd never understand or if it was something else altogether.

"It's okay. I don't know why it's been bugging me all day." Kennedy admitted, her mouth close to Faith's.

"It's cool. Feel better?" Faith asked her quietly, lips inching closer understanding just what it means to need a distraction.

"It's weird but actually? Yeah, I do." With that she pressed her lips hard to Faith knowing that she was about to get her second workout of the day.
