I remember it like it was yesterday. She and I had went out to the countryside, to have a picnic, have fun, and much more. Pulled my car up next to a tree in the shade. We got out and I looked at her. The sun lit her beautiful brunette hair up, making her look even more amazing than she did. She cracked a smile, and it was golden. Just looking at her made me get butterflies in my stomach. We set the blanket out, and I got the cooler and food as she made sure the cloth wouldn't fly away.
As we sat down, eating, laughing, and discussing what had happened to us the past week, I couldn't help myself. I stared and looked her beautiful, cheerful face, and watch at how she would describing many different things. She stopped talking and looked at me. Her beautiful, blue eyes met my eyes. Then I leaned over and kissed her. I felt her hand on my arm, then slowly make its way down. I pulled away, and I decided it was now or never.
"What's the matter?" She asked me.
"Nothing...I juat have a question." I replied as I dug my hand into my pocket.
"What is it?" She asked. I looked into her eyes. she had stood up by now, looking down at me. I bent down on one knee and prepared myself.
"Will you marry me?" I asked. She had tears in her eyes, and she collected herself.
"Yes." She had told me. Then, as I stood up and grabbed her, hugging her and spinning her, and thats when the car exploded.
I woke up on the ground. It was getting close to sunset. I looked over at the car. It wasn't there, but parts of it were everywhere. Flames were dying down. I leaned up and found a piece of the car in my leg. I grabbed it and pulled. The pain was excruciating. I strted bleeding more after I got it out. I heard coughing, and my eyes wandered next to me. What I saw horrified me. She laid there, a piece of metal in her chest. She was dying.
"NO! No, no no no no." I yelled.
"Ch-Chris.." She stammered
"No, don't talk, don't talk." I commanded urgently.
"Chris...I love you...don't forget that...don't forget it."
Then the only woman whom I had loved, died right in my arms.
And I don't even remember her name.
I don't know how long I sat there. It had turned night. I laid her body down. As I stood up and started to walk away, I heard I light growl. I stopped and turned around. She had rose from the ground, and was now standing. Except, she looked different. Her skin was greyish pale, and she had a limp. She growled again. I called out her name. She had responded with a low growl. Then she charged. She bit my neck, and ripped out my throat. I felt blood spurting out. I looked into her fully grey eyes as I fell. She shoved her hand into my stomach, and ripped out my intestenes. And as I lay there, slowly being devoured by my undead fiancée, I let darkness take me over.
I awoke with a body on top of me. I felt weak. I stood up and had a hunger for flesh. I observed my surroundings, and I saw lights. A city.
People lived in cities.
People have food.
People are food.
I walked towards the lights, but I tripped over the body. I looked at it, and it seemed familiar, as if I knew this person. That I had feelings for this person. I couldn't figure out who they were, so I stood back up and limped away, craving a meal.
