A/N: Ok, so during the Harry Potter books, Neville was always shunned kind of. Nobody knew why he was a Gryffindor. In the end, he showed he was a true Gryffindor. I wanted to make a story to show that, so here it is!

At his sorting ceremony in first year, Neville was made a Gryffindor. No one knew why. He wasn't brave or daring. He was just Neville Longbottom. He would have made a better Hufflepuff. Professor Sprout certainly thought so.
Throughout the years, Neville would wonder. Why was he a Gryffindor?
He didn't understand.
The hat said he would show he was worthy.
He tried to prove he was worthy of the title of Gryffindor.
He wanted to make his parents proud, even if they would never understand a word anyone said to them.
He tried his hardest.
He was just Neville though.
Not brave.
Not daring.

Not good at anything but Herbology.
Until his fifth year.
When Harry started Dumbledore's Army, he was finally improving at something.
He looked up to Harry.
He felt happy that someone was finally trying to help him instead of mock him.
Hermione and Ron too.
Harry, Ron, and Hermione were some of the best people he knew.
All his life people would say things.

Finally brave.
People would say things, but they never meant it.
Harry was the brave one.
At the Battle of Hogwarts, he finally proved he was a Gryffindor.
He stood up to Voldemort.
He wore the hat.
Before it set on fire, it said, "I knew you'd prove it one day."
He proved his worth.
He made his parents proud, even if they didn't understand.
He earned the title of Gryffindor.
He wasn't just Neville anymore.
He didn't belong in Hufflepuff.
He was a Gryffindor.
