Okay, this is gonna be wierd, but bear with me. I couldn't get this out of my head.
Disclaimer: I don't own NCIS (they belong to Bellisarius Productions). If I did, Jenny would never have died and E.J. would be out of the picture before she was even in it. Oh, I also don't own Cary Grant (he owns himself and his last wife and his daughter own the ashes), Anatevka, Topol or Fiddler on the Roof (they belong to Jerry Bock, Sheldon Harnick, and the book is by Joseph Stein).
Ziva was writing a report at her desk when she felt a paper ball hit her. She ignored it. Again, a paper ball hit her upside the head.
"What are you doing Tony?" Ziva asked not looking up from what she was writing. "Do you not have any work to do?"
"Nope!" Tony said leaning back in his chair smiling. Ziva rolled her eyes and went back to her work.
"Hey." Tony said. When no response came, he repeated himself. He did the same thing about five times before Ziva answered.
"What!" She yelled.
"What do you think of the name Lloyd?" He asked.
"What?" Ziva asked clearly confused.
"The name Lloyd. What do you think about it?"
"I really do not care." Ziva said going back to her work.
"I don't know how I like it." Tony said. "It's got the whole two letters after another thing goin' on."
"So?" Ziva asked. "Your name does too."
"Yes, but it's in the middle. Lloyd is in the front. So what do you think about it?"
"About what Tony?" Ziva asked immediately wishing she had not.
"The name Lloyd."
"It's an odd name?" Ziva questioningly stated, hoping to keep him quiet so she could work. She smiled when she realized her idea worked.
"I like the name John." Tony said. "Nice, simple, and easy for a kid to spell."
"Why do you care if it is easy for a child to spell Tony?" Ziva asked as she put her work to the side of her desk.
"Because, when I was a kid, I had to learn to spell Anthony. Do you know how hard that is for a little boy to spell? I always envied the kids in class who had the simple names like Luke or Wyatt. They were easy to spell."
"You have thought way to much on this." Ziva told him.
"Easy for you to say! Your name is Ziva! Four letters, mine was seven!"
"Yes, but I had to learn to spell it in Hebrew and Arabic!" Ziva said. "It's much longer that way."
"Either way, I'm never naming my kid a long name." Tony said.
"You would not give the child your name to keep the tradition going?" Ziva asked.
"Nope!" Tony said. "Are you sure you didn't live in Anatevka in a past life?"
"Why do you say that?"
"You care a lot about tradition."
"Yes, so?" Ziva asked.
"Just wondering. Hey, did you know Topol's from-"
"Israel, Tony. I know. Why would you not name your child Anthony?" Ziva inquired.
"I do not want him to have reputation I have, or better yet my father's." Tony told her.
"What would you name him?" Ziva asked.
"John." Tony said.
"John Dinozzo." Ziva said. "I do not know if I like it. It does not sound right."
"Okay, what about Sean Dinozzo?" Tony asked. Ziva shook her head.
"What about Andy DiNozzo?" Ziva answered.
"Nope. Short for Andrew."
"Andrew is only six letters." Ziva said. "It could not be that hard for him to learn."
"Nope." Tony said.
"Fine, what about Asher? It is only five letters." Ziva said.
"No." Tony protested.
"Why?"
"It would remind me of a reindeer." Tony said.
"Judah." Ziva shot. Tony thought about it.
"Juday, Juday, Juday." Tony muttered mimicking Cary Grant.
"What?" Ziva asked.
"Cary Grant."
"You cannot name your son after Cary Grant."
"I wasn't. I was mimicking him in his movie, actually, I don't think he ever said that. I should look that up-"
"Tony." Ziva called.
"Right. Um what was I saying?" He asked. Ziva did not get to answer.
"Get back to work DiNozzo!" Gibbs said slapping him upside the head.
