A/N: This is an idea that I've had for a while now. Tell me what you think.
Disclaimer: Cassandra Clare owns all.
I stood frozen in the lounge, staring at the white haired man. He was a shadowhunter. I could see that much.
"Clarissa." He said.
I glanced behind me, towards the room where mommy was sleeping, wondering if I should yell.
He walked towards me and I backed up a step. Then I felt stupid. Uncle Luke told me that Mommy was one of the best shadowhunters ever in the whole world. She was never scared. I wanted to be just like her. I took a deep breath and drew myself up, looking the man in the eye.
"Who are you?"
The man smiled and reached out for me, taking my hand.
"What has your mummy told you about your daddy?" he asked.
"My daddy's dead" I said.
"Your mummy lied, sweetie."
…
I gasped, waking up from the dream with a start. Actually, it was more of a memory than a dream. The day I met my father. The day I started lying to my mother.
There wasn't another option really. Mom hated dad. If I told her about my regular meetings with him she'd flip out and move us half way across the world. There was also the tiny fact that everyone thought he was dead. Well, everyone but me and my brother Jonathon. Jon was raised by our father though I saw him most nights when I snuck out and went demon hunting with him. He was a good brother but a bad person. He never showed any remorse at anything and was often cruel to the servants at the manor. The servants had been sworn to secrecy about all of us under threat of death.
There were also the times I skipped school to go and train with my father and brother. My father trained me more thoroughly than my mom ever did. He just understood my talents and made sure I was pushed to my limit. He helped me discover my gift for creating runes. It was how I was able to see them so regularly. I portalled.
I loved both my parents but Mom could never find out what I was doing. She'd hate me.
I sighed and threw back my covers. Simon and I were going out tonight to Pandemonium, the club that demons frequented. Risky to go as a mundane, I know, but there were shadowhunters in New York already. The ones from the institute. They could take care of it.
A/N: Ok so this is a taster, that's why it's so short. Just to see if it's worth continuing. Thanks for reading. R&R please
