She sat at the mirror in front of her, brushing down her long auburn hair, she got her hair from her gran who she was missing dearly right now. She wished she was back home , she remembered the day they left, her and her mum, it was for the best that's what her mum had said and her mum wouldn't have said that unless it was true so she believed her but Why was she not allowed to tell anyone that's what bothered her the most and so she still didn't understand fully why. Then she remembered the way he had tried to control her, never let her do anything on her own and it had made her mum so miserable. The girl was taking out of her thoughts by her mum shouting her name.
"I swear Sophie I don't think you ever listen I've been shouting on you for the last ten minutes" said her mum as she appeared at the door.
"Sorry" Sophie replied as she picked up her cherry lip balm and applied it to her lips.
"Yeah well we need to go now don't want to be late on our first day do we" her mum said to her.
"Yes miss" Sophie cheekily answered as her mum smiled and walked out the room.
Sophie gave one last smile into the mirror before picking up her bag and following her mum out the front door into the car.
"So waterloo road it is then, nervous?" Her mum asked.
"Nah, you?" The young girl replied.
"I'd be lying if I said no" her mum told her.
"Suppose I'm lying to then" Sophie said as she smiled at her mum who smiled back.
"Ready then?"
"As ready as I'll ever be".
