As time passed by, Harry, Ginny and their children had moved on from the terrible events that had plagued their past as well as their friends and families. Despite how aware the still young Harry Potter had been in his teen years, he never noticed the presence of one potions master and ex defense against the dark arts professor who watched him at all times. Severus Snape may have passed on from the land of the living but just like the common ghost he hung around, hoping to stay clear of the others whom had passed away. Dieing did not mean that you could just give up on everything. He still felt himself responsible in a small way, wondering if he had been the one with Lily, would she have been dead now. Would Harry have been hunted in such a manner?

His eyes watched Harry now, brewing a cauldron of veritaserum as a favor for a friend at the ministry, hoping the still meager potions maker did not blow himself up in the process.

A small sound from behind him had caught his attention and he turned, his face suddenly full of red hair.

"Lily." His voice was one of surprise but still his face did not falter from his ever dull and angry expression. A glance to the side was proven to be a downer when he saw James Potter standing with his arms crossed and a sort of pouted look on the mans face. "Potter." More an acknowledgement then a greeting spat from his tongue.

"Sniva… OWE!" The elbow of the read head connected with James chest and he glared as if the potions master had been responsible.

"Severus." Lilly began. "I know how you felt about me and I know how you felt about James. I also know that if it wasn't for you… Harry would be dead and we wouldn't be grandparents." She laughed and smiled so sweetly. "Thank you Severus. Thank you for all that you have done for us." Her arms wrapped around the shocked man and he for a moment did not know what to do in this situation so while one very unsteady hand patted her back, his eyes went to James whom was seething mad.

As if it was his last triumph, Snape grinned at James and used his free hand to flick off his ghostly rival.

Yep… Being dead may have a few more perks then he thought it would.
