Here's a little drabble from me after an extended absence. I know people are waiting for a new chapter to Chasing Tails; however, over spring break, back in March, my computer crashed on me and I lost everything. Now I have to try and remember what I was going to do for it...and the same thing for Superstition (which I had half done before the crash), so until I can get the time to write those up, here's a drabble that popped into my head.

Eye lids fluttered open as Sasuke grumbled and turned away from the annoying light that managed to creep through the thin curtains; he was not a morning person. However, the warm body next to him caused a frown to mar his face.

Carefully sitting up, Sasuke stretched his hand over to the bedside table and grabbed a pair of glasses before slipping them on and glancing down at the unnaturally warm body next to him. Naruto was still fast asleep; however, it looked as if the sleep was unpleasant, and, not to mention, Sasuke was not used to waking up with Naruto still asleep. Normally Naruto would be up long before Sasuke simply because the blonde was a bundle of energy; whereas, Sasuke hated mornings with a passion. Then again, Sasuke couldn't say that he was surprised by this unusual turn of events.

The night before, Naruto came down with a fever…one that Sasuke told him was caused by the blonde's stupidity. Naruto had spent numerous hours out in the rain simply because he was too damn stubborn to call Sasuke while he was at work to pick him up when his own work day ended…and to make things worse, Naruto had forgotten his keys in the house, so he was waiting outside in the rain even longer than he would have normally.

Sighing, Sasuke slipped out of the bed to get a damp towel; he could at least help relieve the burning fever a little. While Sasuke was annoyed by Naruto's fever, it was mostly because he hated seeing Naruto sick. It didn't happen often, but when Naruto was sick, the blonde was always so miserable when he was feeling under the weather. It was like watching a wounded animal struggle with even the simplest things.

Reentering the room with the damn washcloth, the Uchiha quietly made his way back to the bed and carefully placed the cool towel on Naruto's burning forehead. He watched as Naruto frowned in his sleep, only to then let the frown fade away, as if nothing had changed.

Sasuke shook his head and gave a small smile. While he hated Naruto being sick, he didn't mind taking care of the one he loved most. He liked being able to help take away some of Naruto's discomfort, even if the blonde was still asleep and didn't realize what Sasuke was doing for him. Besides, Sasuke didn't do it for the recognition of doing something good for his lover; he simply did it out of love.
