UTOPIA
"Will you train with me, nii-san? Can you play today nii-san?" These questions were frequently asked to Itachi, often followed by a rejection. If it was in Itachi's control, he'd pursue any opportunity to be with his younger brother. Fortunately for Itachi, today was out of the ordinary, today Itachi and Sasuke were playing in the spacious fields.
"Nii-san, look at this! I made a wish for you!" the youthful boy informed as his wild legs sprung towards his meditative sibling. Itachi quickly sat up and snapped out of his deep thoughts to perceive what Sasuke was cheerfully rambling about. Sasuke revealed a newly plucked dandelion clasped delicately in his hands.
"Will you make a wish for me, brother?" Sasuke requested as he struggled to make his facial features look forlorn. Itachi inaudibly agreed and blew every last seed off the dandelion, they both silently watched as the seeds ascended higher through the wind. If only Sasuke knew what Itachi desired. Itachi wished that Sasuke and he could live in a Utopia together, he wished that he was not ordered to eradicate his whole clan, Itachi wished a happier outcome than this. Just as their eyes made contact, Sasuke averted his. He seemed to slowly attempt to muster the courage to speak.
"…Did nii-san make a wish?"
"Hai. Just for you and I." Itachi confirmed, humorously poking his little brother's forehead. An aggravated sasuke massaged the slightly reddened skin. Every ounce of Itachi yearned for that wish to be granted. Despite how perfect of a world he envisioned himself and sasuke living in, Itachi realized it would still be wrong. Itachi didn't just see sasuke as just a brother, Itachi had always had uneasy feelings towards Sasuke. Itachi loved Sasuke as a lover, Itachi wanted Sasuke entirely to himself.
"That hurt nii-san. Why do you always do that?" The raven-haired child irritably demanded.
"Because I love you." Itachi sang to his . The perplexed expression on Sasuke's face caused Itachi to chuckle. Itachi leaned towards Sasuke and softly pecked him on the cheek.
"…" Sasuke gazed upon the ground. He felt bizarre butterflies flutter around in his tummy. Big brother had never shown such affection to him, Itachi's kiss felt so miraculous that Sasuke craved more from his otooto. Sasuke timidly grabbed his brother's hand and kissed it back. "I…love you too, nii-san." Unlike last time, Itachi and Sasuke held their eye contact for quite awhile. Itachi noticed that it was gradually getting darker.
"It's time to go home, Sasuke-chan." Itachi announced. Sasuke made a pouty face but increasingly admitted defeat. Sasuke knew he couldn't fight his brother's reasoning. Itachi and Sasuke walked back home hand in hand.
As Itachi lie on his bed that night, he began thinking that maybe his ideal world isn't as far in grasp as he thinks it is.
