'The night is dark and full of terrors'. The phrase Lady Melisandre used almost everytime. Jon used to secretly chuckle every time she said it, and when she spoke of her God. 'Where was your god when Lord Stannis's fleet burned down to ashes in the Blackwater sea?', Jon thought, as he was lighting the candles in his room. Word had got out at the wall about how Stannis's army got decimated at the hands of King Joffrey.
"Thump…Thump..Thump". Someone was beating the door, fiercely. Whenever someone knocked at the door, Jon used to make up assumptions in his mind.
'Did the rangers come back?', was the thought that initially shot into his mind. He paced to the door and opened it. Chilling wind blew inside his chamber, blowing away the flame of the candles that he had just lighted but Jon didn't care as he lifted his gaze to look upon the person standing in front of him. He couldn't see the person as they had worn a cloak with a hood that covered most of their face. Jon took a couple of steps backwards, sensing danger and he was unarmed.
"Who are you?"
The person lifted their hood and Jon was stunned, he couldn't move, as if he'd seen a ghost. His eyes were staring at that face continuously, not blinking once.
"How is this possible?..I thought you were.."
"Yes", the mysterious person replied, their voice had changed ..and for the worse. Jon felta shiver run down his spine but he was no coward.
"What do you want from me?"
"Vengance…I want Vengance".
Jon heard footsteps outside the window to his right. He turned his head slightly too look at it, before looking back at the person at his door.
"I will return..", The person grinned, and vanished in front of his eyes and almost immediately Jon's squire arrived at his door.
"Lord Snow, Lady Melisandre wants to see you".
Jon stared at the squire for a brief moment before nodding in agreement, walked to his door and left the chamber along with his squire. His face blank and his mind full of questions.
'How is this possible?'
