Hey I just saw POTC: AWE!! It was incredible!! This is after the movie, about Jack and his unrequited love after he found the fountain of youth. It's a sad one! One-shot I think, but may become series of drabbles!!!
Of Sparrows & Swanns
Sparrows are wild and free birds. They dart about like thieves taking what they can to sustain themselves. Tiny birds that gather in urban settings and snatch what they can from crumbs and leftovers at bakeries. People often look down on them as pesky scavengers, and Captain Jack Sparrow is no different.
He often only has thoughts of himself, and his freedom. He is unwilling to be like the songbirds in gilded cages, for no ,atter how pretty the bars, a cage is a cage. Capt. Sparrow is akin to his namesake in many aspects. No one can tame a Wild Sparrow, but someone almost did.
Swans are graceful and beautiful. It leaves little wonder in the mind that even one such as dear Capt. Jack would long for the swan, but swans are stubborn, they mate for life. Capt. Jack knows this, and he also knows that a swan should always be with others swans, beauty paired with polished beauty.
The worlds of swans are not ment for a sparrow to share. He could never give up his freedom, not even for so pretty a cage as the boasted by and for the Swann.
Capt. Jack Sparrow reminded himself of this once again as he stood at the bow of his beloved Pearl. He watched with khol rimmed eyes from afar as the object of his affections graced the shores with her prescence.
Her long hair blew in the ocean breeze, her white gown twisted around her ankles heavy with salt from the sea. Her eyes were angled to the horizon, searching for a ship. Jack only wished that she would be looking for his ship, but no, she searched for the Flying Dutchman, same as always.
He knew she would be searching for that ship forever, same as he knew he would be watching her for just as long. After all, he had found the Fountain of Youth, and drank from the acursed waters, but he'd also brought some back for the woman he loved.
Jack only wanted her to be happy, and knew that as a mortal she would only see her husband four or five times before she died of old age. He knew she would be happy with Will, but in accepting this as fact, he resigned himself to living alone.
Times like this, when he was alone and contemplative, he would remember the words of his father, the warning of living alone for eternity. It had only been thirty years before it truly set in, he was alone.
Most of his friends were dead, only Elizabeth and Will remained. His old dreams of being the last pirate faded away. He used to contemplate going on land to visit Elizabeth, but knew he would never be able to leave her if he did.
He once could have had a swan, but everyone knows Swanns and Sparrows can never be together. Regardless, if ever anyone should pass the shores of a certain island, they may see a lone sparrow perched on the branch of an old tree, watching a Swann sleep in the sand. Little does the sparrow know, but the swan dreams of a wild bird rescuing her from her imprisonment.
After all, forever is never to long to love someone.
I hope you liked it!!!!!!! Review!!!!!!
