A WAREHOUSE IN CAPE CARMINE

11:16 PM

Jason Todd's, otherwise known as the Red Hood's, gang was awaiting the arrival of Carmine Falcone's men inside an abandoned, empty warehouse. Carmine Falcone runs one of the most successful families in Gotham City, and masses one of the largest fortunes as well. One of Falcone's capo's, named Giuseppe Amelio, arranged a deal with Red Hood's men, under the permission of Falcone, of course: If they drop their loyalty to the Red Hood, Falcone would give them a 50% cut of all their income they make, which is a gain of 10% for them, and grant them unrestricted operation all over Gotham. It was simply an offer they could not refuse.

It was a freezing cold night, as usual. The sky looked entirely black, with absolutely no celestial bodies in sight, like the city was draped over by a black sheet. It almost felt as if the world was trying to shamefully mask all the atrocities this city has committed from the rest of the world. The gang stopped pacing the warehouse and listened closely as they caught the sound of the gentle rev of a car, which suddenly ceased, followed by the noise of gently closing doors. Nervously, the gang reached for hidden weapons as the door opened, which they released when they recognized the men walking inside.

Giuseppe Amelio himself, along with six armed gunmen, marched towards the gang.

"So," Giuseppe said, in a slight but noticeable Italian accent, "straight to business, as I prefer most of my meetings. Have you gentlemen agreed to the terms that we have given you?"

One of the gang members spoke up. "We like the idea, but the Red Hood will kill us if we betray him."

Giuseppe gave a low pitched chuckle, masking his frustration about the comment. "If it is one man you fear, we will send fifty to remove him from the grid altogether."

The deal sounded better to the gang, but they still had the feeling something would go very wrong. After all, the infamous Red Hood turned Black Mask's famous reputation into a laughing stock among other criminals.

"You don't know him like we do," said one of the gang members. "This guy is crazy. Crazy enough to mess with Black Mask, crazy enough to stop at nothing to kill all of us."

Giuseppe's voice grew more irritated, noticeably this time, beginning to think that they were about to back out of the deal. "Then he will never find out. Simply give us the details regarding his location, and we will see to it that nobody hears about this motorcycle-clad crime lord again."

"We don't know where he stays", replied another member, "but he does come by our business every few weeks or so to..." His voice grew nervous. "Make sure we don't step out of line..."

"Perfect", replied Giuseppe. "Here are the new terms to our deal. I will see to it that a fraction of our family is dedicated to keeping you protected. This means we give you the death of the Red Hood, 50% of your profits, and you simply give us your allegiance. Fair?"

The gang looked at each-other, and they all realized they couldn't decline a deal like this. Especially not in front of one of Falcone's high-ranking family members, standing in front of six armed men. One of them members up: "Okay, we accept the deal."

Giuseppe looked pleased. "Excellent," he said, hiding his excitement behind a very business-like tone. "May your business and ours thrive." Giuseppe left out the door, followed by the sound of engine ignition, and then the sound of smooth tires against a rough cement road, which eventually faded into silence, leaving only Red Hood's former crew wondering if they just got all of themselves killed.
