Seeing the figure approaching before her, Sydney pulled up to Amberwood in the Ivashkinator, probably slower than was completely necessary. She felt Adrian's gaze on her and probably on her aura, too; he could never resist peeking, no matter how many times she chewed him out on the use of spirit.
Staring forward, Sydney sighed. "I really don't want to go. Zoe's going to be on my case all night about not showing up when she expected me to and then there's the thing with Angeline and - "
" - Sage," Adrian interrupted, taking the risk to grab her hand over the steering wheel. "Stop worrying. I mean, come on, how many times has Angeline been caught tying a guy to the front of a shuttle and driving it around campus?" He thought about it. "Okay, point taken, but I'm sure things can run okay without you there every minute, the world's not gonna fall apart."
"I'm not so sure about that," Sydney muttered, visibly relaxing in her seat, despite her sour words.
After a moment of thoughtful silence, Adrian perked up.
"Hey, I've got something in the trunk for you," he announced abruptly, reaching over Sydney to pop it open before hopping out of the car.
Sydney followed shortly after, spotting Adrian sitting on the edge of the trunk beside a box.
"What's that?" Adrian glanced toward it.
"Oh, that? It's nothing, I just wanted to kiss you, that's all." Before Sydney could protest, Adrian pulled her against him and into a heady kiss.
"Adrian!" she yanked herself backwards, hurriedly checking their surroundings for the stares of any wandering students or clingy sisters. "Someone could see us!"
Adrian shot her the stop worrying look, his finger trailing down the column of her throat, leaving a hot trail on her skin. A sigh escaped her, his touch leaving her wanting more.
"That's why I've got this nifty thing here." Adrian other hand stroked the trunk and Sydney's eyes followed it attentively, wishing that he would stop touching that and start touching her. "Besides, we're not gonna see each other for a few days. I need a proper goodbye, one that'll fuel my fantasies."
He flashed her his trademark grin and he so new Sydney could never resist it. Today was no exception. She grabbed his neck and scooped him down for a kiss that left them both witless. Circa three months ago, Sydney would have been thoroughly disgusted to see this somewhere happen so public, but feeling Adrian's insistent lips against hers kind of ruled out any semblance of caring she may have had. She embedded her fingers in the mess of Adrian's dark hair, plastering herself as close to his body as she could. In turn, Adrian's expert hands slipped up the back of her blouse, his arms wrapping around her so completely that his fingertips could almost touch if he squeezed just that little bit harder. Their tongues roamed and their teeth nipped the delicate flesh of each others lips, leaving their mouths tender and numb. The air was hot and heavy between them, leaving them short of breath in their close proximity.
Time ran away from them and they both knew that there was a high chance that someone had seen them, but neither bothered to care as much as they probably should have. When Sydney finally broke away, the cold air hit her like a bucket of water and her world spun for a moment. She could swear she still felt Adrian's mouth on hers, hot and frantic.
"Well," Adrian announced, breathless and completely debauched, "I guess that's something to fantasise about."
