I do not own Final Fantasy 8
The sun is up, sharp and clear out of the corner of Squall's eye. How he dread the coming day, for he had not yet received news on mission. They are hours over due, and no one has seen them either. Silently Squall kicks himself for putting Quistis in charge of the group. He had been head master of Balamb garden for only a year and he was still slipping up. A disgrace to the deceased headmaster Cid.
Squall rocks back on his chair. The room he sat in was still heavily surrounded by books. The wooden floor and the little details here and there gave it an English feel. Between this room and the infirmary he could not decide which was kept more immaculate. Sunlight bounced off the polished floors and reflected into spontaneous spaces.
Sighing he gets up and walks to the floor. His boots echoing off the walls, whispering tiny secrets that played in Squall's heart. Expectantly the door opened before Squall got to it. The secretary a bit to eager to help. Last time Squall could tell he could open his own door. Glancing coldly at her he walks by her, and to the elevator. Only there does he stop, and face his secretary.
"If you here from the team let me know." Squall says calmly. "And if there not back in two hours wake me up regardless."
"Yes, headmaster Squall." She says politely hands folded in front.
Rika Draco, nineteen years old and so eager to please. When push came to shove she was skilled at fighting, but she preferred a life behind the desk. Secretly she only longed to be a secretary cause more cute men came through. Trouble makers and older men, but was it so bad for her to look? That is what made up Squall's new secretary.
Squall lets out a breath and enters the elevator, letting it carry him downwards. A few precious seconds to himself. Squall leans on the back of the lift and crosses his arms. He was headmaster of Balamb Garden now, but he refused to put on a suit and a tie. He preferred his old outfit still, who could blame him. Squall rests his head against the wall of the elevator as it prematurely stops to pick up a passenger.
A wired twelve year old gets on the elevator. Giggling about something, probably something foolish. She punches the first floor button before noticing Squall. Secretly Squall crosses his fingers, he did not want to talk to her. Talk to anyone for that matter right now. She looks at Squall and smiles sweetly, almost bursting out information.
Finally the first floor doors open. Squall pushes past her and out the door. Desperately making a run before she could bust forth her information.
"Head master Leonhart, just thought you should know Rinoa's in the Cafeteria with her kids." The girl bursts out.
"What?" Squall turns around to face her but she is gone.
Rinoa after the deal with the sorcerous she had gone back to her fathers. Then from her fathers, and from there he herd she had gotten married. Her father refused to tell him to whom, he was afraid Squall would loose it. He chuckles to himself lightly and walks towards the cafeteria it was obvious who she had married. Only Seifer Almsy be the only person they figured he'd flip out if she married.
"Squall!"
Rinoa stops feeding a kid of two, and runs up to Squall, hugging him tight. Squall hugs her back, it was nice to see her again after all this time. Same old Rinoa, and she was lucky he didn't have a head of grey hair. Not a one on her head it was surprising. Then again she didn't run a school.
"I herd you got married." Squall says letting her go. "Let me guess to Seifer?"
Rinoa barely suppressed laughing out. "No, not Seifer."
"Really?" Squall says coolly.
"Yes, I married Rajin."
