A/N: Hullo, I've been reading some wickedly good songfics lately(-cough- beebee17 -cough cough-), which has inspired me to do one of my own. Hope y'all like it.

It's gonna be in Paul's point of view, which I don't see a lot of very often. As you know by the title, this song is A Girl Like You by Edwyn Collins. The first time I heard it was on Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle where Demi Moore was going to kick some Charlie's Angel butt. And the song just stuck in my head after that. Go figure. I was humming it for a bit too. It is way catchy.

Happy belated Meg Cabot Day (at least in Bloomington, Indiana)!

A Girl Like You

Paul's POV (Ick, I don't like being in his mind)

I've never known a girl like you before
Now just like in a song from days of yore
Here you come a knockin', knockin' on my door
And I've never met a girl like you before

How the hell was I to know that when I opened the Pebble Beach Hotel and Golf Resort door to meet Jack's pathetic babysiter that what I would find was anything but pathetic? I wasn't to know. My new ambition was her. Susannah Simon.

You give me just a taste so I want more
Now my hands are bleeding and my knees are raw
Cos you've got me crawlin', crawlin' on the floor
And I've never met a girl like you before

Suze. She invaded my thoughts, my sight, my very being. How? How could a mere girl have this sort of power over me, Paul Slater? She can't be normal, not a mere girl, no.

You've made me acknowledge the devil in me
I hope to God I'm talkin' metaphorically
Hope that I'm talkin' allegorically
Know that I'm talkin' about the way I feel
And I've never known a girl like you before
Never, never, never, never
Never known a girl like you before

A mediator. Suze isn't normal, I knew it. Does she know, though? She must surely, yet....Only one way to find out for sure. Don't be angry Suze, don't missunderstand me. It's for your own good, you know.

This old town's changed so much
Don't feel like I belong
Too many protest singers
Not enough protest songs
And now you've come along
Yes you've come along
And I've never met a girl like you before...

Ah, it turns out that Suze isn't a mediator but a shifter, like me. Excellent.

A/N: Yuck, I'm glad that's over.
