This song fic is based on the chorus of Eminem's song Stan. It takes place just after the Cell games.
~*~My tea's gone cold, I'm wondering why I got out of bed at all...~*~
Gohan awoke to the sound of rain. "Great!" he thought, "The perfect day to go fishing with Dad!" He ran downstairs to the kitchen, where he knew his dad would be. Upon seeing no Goku, he remembered that Cell had killed his father. And it was all his fault. "Oh. Yeah. I forgot..." he muttered, depressed. Chi Chi came into the kitchen, and looked at Gohan. "What's wrong? Are you feeling all right Gohan?" she asked. Gohan looked up, "Yeah, I guess." Chi Chi looked at him funny, thinking about her own son, killing someone who destroyed her husband. "I'm gonna go back to bed, Mom," he said. "Why I'm even awake," he thought to himself, "I don't know. There's no reason to be awake if there's nothing to do.
~*~ ...The morning rain clouds up my window, and I can't see at all...~*~
He tried to see out the window in his room. He wanted to be sure his dad wasn't already out there, he wanted to think that he was. But he knew that his dad was gone, and it was his fault. He jumped on his bed, and shoved his face into his pillow. "What did I do to deserve this? Tell me, someone! Why me? Why is Dad gone? Why?" he wanted to scream. He wanted to go back to yesterday, and just kill Cell when he first had the chance. Then he wanted to come back to today, and go fishing with has Dad, even train with his dad, if that's what he wanted to do.
~*~...Even if I could it'd all be gray, but your picture on my wall...~*~
He looked up, and saw a picture of his dad, smiling the usual smile. How could he bear to smile? That picture must go! Gohan got up to take the picture of his wall. When he got over, and picked the picture up, he looked at it. Goku was standing there, holding a young Gohan, and smiling. Smiling. Goku would always be happy, no matter how bad anything was.
~*~... It reminds me that it's not so bad, it's not so bad ~*~
Gohan thought, "If dad knew that I was just standing here like this, he'd be upset. He wouldn't want me just going around, moping in my own sadness." So he ran to his closet, and put on some clothes and a rain coat. He got out his fishing rod, and some lures, and ran downstairs. "Mom, I'm going fishing!" He called.
"Now that's my real Gohan," Chi Chi thought to herself. "So carefree, and laid back, just like Goku."
