No More Romeo and Juliet

BELLA'S HUMAN. TAKES PLACE AFTER ECLIPSE, BEFORE BREAKING DAWN.

BPOV

I was stretched out across the Cullen's couch in their large, white living room. Edward was sitting next to me, playing with my fingers while he whispered Romeo's lines in my ear. We were watching Romeo and Juliet, the tragic love story where both main characters die.

The ending came, and tears rolled silently down my cheeks. I realized that no matter how fictional this story is, Edward and I would have ended up like this if it weren't for Alice. Bound by an imperfect love, but torn by tragedy. Certainly, nobody wants to die like that but, when it comes to true love nothing seems impossible.

"Bella, love? You normally don't cry this much when we watch this movie. Is something wrong?" Edward asked me while he looked at my face and tried to decipher what I was thinking. He wiped the tears off of my face in one swift motion, only to be replaced by more.

"Do you realize that this story is so close to what would have happened to us almost a year ago?" I ask him. Surly, he would have considered this.

Pain swept across his face as he hugged me closer.

"I know, love, I know. Don't think for a moment that I will ever leave you again. That was the worst mistake of my whole existence." I looked up at him; the tortured expression still did not leave his face.

I took my hand and put it up against his cheek. His expression softened into love as he looked me in the eyes.

"I will love you forever." He promised.

With that, he moved his lips closer so they were on top of mine. He promised with such fervor, that I knew he would never break it.

TAKES PLACE AFTER BREAKING DAWN

And he still hasn't.
