MY GIFT TO YOU

The bell over the door tinkled, its jingle striking a flat, cheerless slap against his ears. Sam brushed at his cheeks, unsure if the moisture there was really the result of melting crystals of snow.
He didn't want to be here. Didn't want to do this. His heart was full—too full—of something far more crushing than joy. But he moved further into the gas station's convenience store. Because Dean deserved his Christmas. He deserved this Christmas and a hundred more just like it.
Who was he to deny his brother this small indulgence? Sam choked back the despair.
