Setting: After Link defeated Ganon and sealed him in the Sacred Realm, a new evil awoke from the depths of the Lost Woods. Having been in the Lost Woods, the Kokiri were the first to notice. Eventually it crept into Goron City and Zora's River, bringing notice to them. Word reached Hyrule Castle and that's where it spread everywhere. The folks in Kakariko Village and even the Gerudos heard. Link, who had been living in Kakariko Village at the time, decided to try and save Hyrule yet again, but little does he know that he is about to face evil far more powerful than Ganondorf, and that the wrath of whatever monster was unleashed had already been released.
Chapter 1
The screams seemed to echo far across Hyrule Field, sending Link dashing out of Kakariko Village to see what was going on. As he sprinted across the grass, his mind shot into fear and sweat beaded across his face as Link spotted a seemingly unreal fire spreading across the Lost Woods area. He became sick with worry as he thought of the Kokiri in Kokiri Forest.
Link became dizzy with thoughts of what might happen to them and he started stumbling backwards when he suddenly heard a shrill voice. "Hey, Link, snap out of it," Navi shouted as Link suddenly regained control of himself.
Much to his horror, a Kokiri fell out of one of the trees leading to the forest with blood coming out of a huge gash in its chest. Link froze in shock and felt his eyes watering up as the limp body hit the grass below, staining it with red. "No," Link let out a yell, "NO!" He raced over to the Kokiri as if his whole life depended on it, which in Link's mind was true, and kneeled beside it. He put out a shaking hand to the Kokiri, but it was no use. It was dead before it fell out of the cursed tree. Suddenly, a memory came rushing to Link's head and he remembered the same Kokiri blocking his path to the now dead Great Deku Tree complaining that Link doesn't have a sword and a shield. Mido. Link felt a tear leave his eye, he had always disliked Mido, but he had never wished him dead.
He forced himself upright, taking out his sword with a bloody hand. The one Mido had demanded Link equipped before he could visit the Deku Tree. He took out his Hylian Shield and started bolting into the forest.
