There are times when Shikamaru thinks he can't stand Temari.
Like the time she came up behind him, slammed her fan on the ground next to his head, and yelled because he was lazy and good-for-nothing.
Or the times they spar, and she wins. Beaten by a woman. How troublesome.
But then there are the times when he knows he can't live without her.
Like the months between the times he gets to see her.
Or when she steals kisses when no one's looking.
In the end, he knows he can never have her. Life as a shinobi doesn't work that way.
